Quick Reference Sheet ORGANIZATION MINWAASHIN LODGE WHAT IT IS Organization Mandate Minwaashin Lodge provides a range of programs and services to First Nations, Inuit and Métis women and children who are survivors of domestic and other forms of violence. We also have a first-stage shelter that provides safe shelter to abused or homeless women and children. Working within a traditional healing model we deal with the effects of poverty, addictions, sexual abuse, violence, residential school and intergenerational trauma. WHAT THEY PROVIDE Key Programs & Services for Job Seekers PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Contact: Employment Readiness Program - Modeled on the teachings of the Medicine Wheel, a traditional, Aboriginal program to find meaningful work and/or access training. Women develop an education/career plan and explore going back to school, upgrading, training, confidence building and career guidance. Individual and group work with job seekers. It offers training and career development opportunities in Office Administration. Willis College includes a 4-week work experience component.
