Administrative Assistant needed for the Greater Overberg Fire Protection Association.
The Greater Overberg Fire Protection Association are looking for a part-time Administrative Assistant. The
incumbent should be based in Bredasdorp area, be able to work independently, have access to internet and make
use of their own laptop, scanner and printer for this position. Ideally, this will be a person who would like to grow
with
the
GO FPA as we develop and expand our organisations.
Brief job descriptions:
Manage the administration of the GO FPA’s office including correspondence, filing, financial management, budget
keeping and procurement (i.e. payments & quotes), databases, reports and documents; draw up agendas, take and
distribute minutes; organise and co-ordinate meetings, workshops and events at the request of the Manager;
manage the membership database; liaise with internal and external contacts of the organisation, manage the FPA’s
membership database and debtor accounts; coordination with our Accountants as required; liaise with the FPA
stakeholders to ensure effective communication.
Skills profile required:

Educational requirements: Minimum Grade 12 and at least 3 years practical office administration experience,
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years
Skills requirements:

Good spoken and written communications skills
Computer literate in all Office programmes (Word, Excel, etc.), internet use and email
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent office administration skills
Excellent financial management skills (filing, record-keeping against budgets, etc.)
Proven ability to multi –task.
Ability to work in a team, take direction,
Ability to work undirected and under pressure
Able to work independently
Own vehicle, valid driver’s license
Recommendations:

Tertiary qualifications that contribute to the candidate’s ability to do the job.
Fluency in a second language and writing or journalistic experience would be advantageous
Personal characteristics: organised, disciplined, innovative, patient, dependable, honest.
Remuneration:
Package negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
