WALK DAY: NEWS YOU CAN USE
2015 Hilton Head Walk to Cure Diabetes
Sunday, March 29th
Hilton Head Preparatory School
Walk Activities Open at 1:00pm, Walk Program Starts at 2 pm
Check-In Information:
When you arrive, head to the Registration/Money
Drop Off tent to turn in your Walker Collection
Envelope. The Walker Collection Envelope should
be completed with:


Your Team Name and Team Captain's name
Amount in envelope
Please remember, each walker should turn in his
or her own envelope.


If you have not registered online, please
complete your contact information. Keep in
mind, home address is preferred in order to
expedite the delivery of JDRF post-Walk
information and prizes.
Checks should be made payable to JDRF
JDRF Walk T-Shirts:
Every Participant that has raised $100 by walk day
will receive 1 JDRF walk t-shirt at registration.
Offline Unconfirmed Gifts:
Cash and check donations that have not been
received by JDRF prior to Walk day will temporarily
be removed from your Walk Participant Center to
avoid us counting them twice. They will also no
longer appear or on your thermometer.
Immediately following the Walk, we’ll begin
entering all money turned in on Walk Day.
Within four weeks, the donations you submit on
walk day will again appear on your fundraising
thermometer as confirmed donations and count
towards Fundraising Rewards, if you opted into the
program.
To avoid the change in the thermometer, please
consider turning in your cash or checks prior to
Walk day.

WALK PARKING & LOGISTICS
Parking: Please find parking the Hilton Head Prep
parking lot.
Food, Fun and Entertainment
We'll have music and plenty of family fun
including: Bounce houses, face painting, and more!
The park and walk route are also dog and stroller
friendly.
Refreshments will be available compliments of
Pepsi and a light snack will be provided by Moe’s
Southwest Grill prior to the Walk. All food is
donated, and available on a first come, first served,
basis.
Team Tents: Look for signs directing you to a
specific area where teams can set up a tent and
gather. We ask that you only bring one tent per
team.
Important Fundraising Details
The deadline for turning in Walk money to JDRF for
award and fundraising rewards eligibility is four (4)
weeks post-Walk. Walker Collection Envelopes to
send in with post-Walk funds will be available at
the check-in area.
Donor Receipts:
Donors who have written a check to JDRF for
$250+ will receive a letter of receipt from JDRF.
Fundraising Rewards:
Walk fundraising rewards information is delivered
to eligible participants approximately 10 weeks
after the Walk. Ordering information will be sent
with your fundraising rewards eligibility
information. Visit the prize website to browse the
rewards options (http://www.jdrf.org/greatprizes)
If you wish to opt out of fundraising rewards, you
can do so by editing your profile on walk.jdrf.org
under the “Event Registration Information”
section.
