PAMFT MEMBERSHIP CONFERENCE: Treating Attachment Injuries and Trauma using Internal Family Systems – May 8th 2015 - Union League, Philadelphia, PA , – April 11, 2014 – 8:30AM – 4:30PM –Union League, Philadelphia, PA Treating Attachment Injuries and Trauma using Internal Family Systems (IFS) THERTHERAPY Internal Family Systems: The (IFS) model offers an empowering non-pathologizing approach to treating trauma. The basic premise of the most traumatized individual possesses an undamaged deep Self that we can draw from to heal any wounded parts of ourselves. Negating the trauma response by becoming overly self-protective. IFS employs highly sophisticated methods to help traumatized individuals relax and understand they are no longer under threat, lowering the barriers to renewed connection with their always present inner-guide by accepting all parts of ourselves engaging them with compassionate curiosity rather than judgment, transforming them into valuable qualities. Richard C. Schwartz, Ph.D. developed IFS. He is a noted author, trainer and founder of the Center for Self Leadership. Dr. Schwartz has published five books and fifty articles about IFS. is a Pre-approved Provider by the PA State Board of Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Counselors for Continuing Education Credits for SWs, MFTs and PCs is a co-sponsor of this event.
