Kangaroo Club
Children are always welcome to Penina
Hotel & Golf Resort, having been the
pioneer resort in the Algarve in the
creation of activities dedicated to younger
guests. Thus was born the concept of kids
club, which was recently re-named the
“Kangaroo Club”.
Our services and activities are based on
children’s expectations and are specially
tailored so that they can enjoy the best of
their holiday, from the arrival at the Hotel
to the departure home.
The Kangaroo Club is a club available
for children up to 12 years old. Children
from 3 to 12 years are under the care of
experienced supervisors. However, children
under the age of 3 years are also welcome
at the Kangaroo Club. Up to 1 year of age
under parental supervision and from 1
year to 2 years inclusive, with babysitting
service, provided by the Kangaroo Club,
on request. For teenagers up to 16 years,
the resort also makes available a range of
junior activities.
The Kangaroo Club is opened 7 days a
weeks, from Easter to the end of October
and during Christmas and New Year
(during this period at the L’Arlecchino).
The philosophy of the Kangaroo club is to
recognize children as important guests
of our Resort with their own needs,
expectations and desires.
Kangaroo Club –
Activities & Meals
The Kangaroo Club consists of an area of
2,269 m2, located about 100 meters from
the hotel main building. It offers across a
wide range of leisure activities for the little
ones:
•Coverage Area to play with appropriate
toys and furniture.
•Large outdoor play space, with ropes for
climbing, soccer field, bike lane, pool and
sandy pitch
•During Spring and Summer a bouncy
castle is available.
•Kangaroo Mac Restaurant.
•Nursery fully equipped with facilities for
baby hygiene.
•Game room equipped with toys, games,
sports equipment and other materials
needed for children entertainment.
The Kangaroo Club is reachable for children
with disabilities. All outdoor activities are
protected by shadows and comply with
strict safety regulations.
All members of the Kangaroo team have
specific training, knowledge and skills
necessary for the supervision and children
education.
Meals
The Kangaroo Club offers a varied cuisine
adjusted to children taste, providing a
selection of balanced meals suitable for
their needs. During Spring and Summer,
the Club has its own restaurant - the
Kangaroo Mac.
With a fun and colorful décor, the Kangaroo
Mac, is furnished with tables and chairs
adequate for children’s size. Meals are
always supervised by the Kangaroo Club
team. The menus are carefully designed
to provide varied and well-adjusted meals,
always meeting the development needs
of growing children. When necessary
parents can order meals for special diets, or
requests of dietary restrictions for
their children.
Meals and beverages consumed at the
Kangaroo Club will be charged separately.
For health and safety reasons, food
and beverages from the exterior are
not allowed for consumption in the
Kangaroo Club.
During Spring and Summer periods a
special breakfast buffet is available “the
Kangaroo Buffet” - that is served at Sagres
Restaurant. Lunches and dinners at
Kangaroo Mac must be ordered in advance
in the morning at the Kangaroo Club.
The resort offers a children’s menu in the
restaurants (except the restaurant Le Grill)
and room service.
Groups By Ages
The Kangaroo Club is a facility available for
children up to 12 years of age, divided by
specific age groups:
The little ones (from 0 months to 1 year
old) are welcome to Kangaroo Club, where
they can enjoy the facilities provided they
are accompanied by their parents.
For children from 1 to 2 years of age
inclusive, we provide a personalized
babysitting service, as well as activities
according to age, upon payment of a fee.
For children from 3 to 5 years of age
we provide a full program of activities,
including drawing and painting, modeling
in clay, imagination games, play in the
water, fruit picking (including learning how
to cook and prepare the collected fruit) .
The activities are designed to be fun and at
the same time to develop the capabilities
of children.
Children from 6 to 12 years of age prefer a
more active program of activities. We offer
them activities, such as: swimming lessons,
golf and tennis. Many activities embrace
the participation of parents, namely the
summer family barbecue held on a
weekly basis.
Our professionals believe it is more
important for children to learn while
having fun and with that in mind they
developed a set of educational and funny
activities, such as modeling with clay,
painted tiles, jewelry making, preparation
of cakes, and many other activities
using paper.
When children reach the adolescence, they
prefer to leave the Kangaroo Club and
embrace other activities. At this age young
people like to express their independence
and ideals. However, the socialization
among young people on holiday is
essential, therefore our team produced a
junior activity program for teenagers up
to 16 years old.
Kangaroo Club Activities
The program of activities is carefully
designed to give a balance among sports,
workshops, more educational games and
activities, respecting the routines and
customs of each child. To encourage the
participation of children in the different
they are awarded with a certificate at the
weekly cocktail party with parents.
Kangaroo Club - Rates and
Opening hours
The Kangaroo Club is not only available
for hotel guests, but also for any parent
wishing to leave their children at our care.
This is the ideal environment where you
can leave your children so that you can
enjoy special moments with your partner
or with friends, to play a round of golf or
just relaxing.
To leave the children at our care, parents
must fill out a form, indicating any medical
conditions or special requirements. The
safety and well-being of their children
are our main objective. The Club has
a regulation that should be read and
analyzed carefully by all parents.

until the end of October, reopening again
on Christmas and New Year, seven days
a week:
From 10:00 a.m. to 06.00 p.m.
From 8:00 a.m. to 07.00 p.m. (Jul & Aug)
