CMS Spring Walk-To-School Day! Friday, May 22, 2015! Since our Fall Walk-To-School Day was such a success, we decided to do it again! Columbus staff and friends will lead CMS students on a walk to Columbus School from Veteran’s Park. Permission slips are accompanying this notice and must be returned by Monday, May 18. Copies are also available for download from the CMS website. Friday morning, all cars and buses will enter Veteran’s Park at the East Entrance off of Seaview Avenue (closest to Overton’s & Mr. Frosty) and follow the loop around to the far end of the field. Specific areas and separate areas will be designated and marked for car drop-off and bus drop-off on the right-hand side prior to, but nearing, the West Exit (closest to the Bridge). Please look for signs for parking and car drop-off. Students must be dropped off by 9:20 am. Students will be cross checked (for permission to participate) according to our participation spreadsheet prior to exiting their car or bus. Participant lists by bus will also be provided to bus drivers Thursday afternoon; however, no student is to exit a bus before being cleared by a CMS staff member. No student will be allowed to participate without a presubmitted permission slip. Please understand the coordination to ensure sufficient staff and volunteers on site for the walk and at school to receive students requires the strict permission deadline and adherence to it. Once checked in, students will report to the designated “meeting area” by grade. Parent volunteers and staff members will supervise the students until all buses have arrived. At 9:20 am we will begin to exit the park at the bridge-side exit. We will walk by th grade, beginning with kindergarten and 5 grade bringing up the rear. Please Note: All students must walk with their grade level.
