The student will learn simple techniques to reawaken the power to observe, and train the motor reflex between the eye and hand to achieve and capture an image on paper. The student will first learn to sit, visualize mentally, and then execute an image on paper. Learning composition, perspective, proportion, and other techniques will further help in the endeavor. This is a workshop for those interested in their family history. You will learn how to develop a plan, find information and avoid common mistakes in your research. We will explore information available on the Internet and in your local community, including the census, city directories, military, and cemetery sources. We will also touch on what is available for organizing and preserving your family history for yourself, as well as future generations. Basic Internet skills are helpful, but not essential. The UTEP Golddiggers have danced alongside professional dance teams like the cheerleaders for the Dallas Cowboys, Orlando Magic, and San Antonio Spurs among others. This is Coach Rebecca Cano Salcido’s sixteenth year as the director of the UTEP Golddiggers. She has over 40 years of training and 31 years of experience as a professional dancer for companies like Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. She was a company member with Gus Giordano Company in Chicago and has been a featured dancer in many video, television, and film industry productions. She is currently a lead judge for many dance competitions and a professional workshop instructor/choreographer throughout the United States. She now instructs local children to participate in competitions. New this year for the High School and Studio dance teams: The Golddiggers will teach three complete, ready-to-perform routines at our summer camp for partipants 14 and older.
