East of England Afghan Club SCHEDULE OF 20 CLASS UNBENCHED SINGLE BREED MORNING OPEN SHOW (Held under Kennel Club Limited Rules and Regulations) REGULATIONS FOR THE PREPARATION OF DOGS FOR EXHIBITION F(B) 1. These Regulations must be observed when a dog is prepared for exhibition and/or exhibited at any Kennel Club Licensed event. Objections may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under these Show Regulations and/or for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rule A 42. (a) A dog found to have been exhibited in breach of these Regulations will automatically be disqualified from exhibition at the show and from any award gained there at. (b) Unless the exhibitor provides a satisfactory explanation for the dog being exhibited in breach of these Regulations then he/she may be subject to further penalties of either a fine or as listed under Rule A42. 2. a) No substance which alters the natural colour, texture or body of the coat may be present in the dog’s coat for any purpose at any time during the Show. No substance which alters the natural colour of any external part of the dog may be present at any time during the Show. b) Any other substance (other than water) which may be used in the preparation of a dog for exhibition must not be allowed to remain in the coat or on any other part of the dog at the time of exhibition. 3. No act or operation which alters the natural conformation of a dog or any part thereof may be performed except:(a) Operations certified to the satisfaction of the General Committee. (b) The removal of dew claws of any breed. (c) Operations to prevent breeding provided that such operations are notified to the Kennel Club before neutered dogs are shown. Nor must anything be done calculated in the opinion of the General Committee to deceive. 4. The General Committee without previous notice may order an examination of any dog or dogs at any Show. Any examination thus ordered will be made by a person having executive authority who shall have a written directive from the Kennel Club in their possession. Samples may be taken for further examination and analysis. 5. An individual has the right to lodge an objection to a dog only if he/she is the owner or handler of a dog competing in the same breed or class. An objection may however, be lodged by an official of the Show or by anyone so deputed by the K.C. It will be the responsibility of the individual who lodges the objection or the official (as appropriate), to substantiate the grounds for the objection. The Kennel Club will substantiate the grounds for an objection made on its behalf. 6. Any objection by an individual related to an infringement of these Regulations must be made in writing to the Show Secretary at his/her office before the close of the Show and the individual must produce evidence of identity at the time of lodging the complaint. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered 19. a) No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time whilst at the licensed venue including its environs, car and caravan parks and approaches. b) The owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog at a Kennel Club event must at all times ensure that the dog is kept under proper control whilst at the licensed venue including its environs, car and caravan parks and approaches. 20. Right to Refuse Entries: Exhibitors/Competitors are reminded that show societies have the right under Kennel Club Regulations to refuse any entry. 21. Dog Fouling & Grooming Waste: Any owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dogs is requested to remove as soon as possible any fouling/grooming waste caused by their dog/s at any Kennel Club Licensed Show within the licensed venue and within the environs of that event, including car and caravan parks and approaches. Adequate receptacles for the disposal of such fouling/grooming waste will be provided. 22. Responsibility: The Committee are most anxious for the care and safety of the dogs brought for exhibition but it must be distinctly understood by exhibitors and all other persons that the Committee will not be responsible for the loss, detention of or damage to any dog or other property whether arising from accident, or other cause whatever or from any act or omission of itself, its Officers, Agents, Servants or others.. 23. The Committee will not be responsible in any way for any claim for injury or compensation occasioned by or arising out of the holding of the Show, or by other reason or the act or default of any person in attendance or present thereat. 24 Exclusion of Dogs: The Hon Veterinary Surgeon or Hon Secretary will be empowered to exclude or remove any dog which is not in a fit state for exhibition, either from illness, disease, vice, natural or other causes and if such exclusion takes place, either before or after judging, the entry fee will be forfeited. 25. Replacement of Judges: If any judge is unable to fulfil an engagement, the Committee reserves the right to appoint a replacement. In these circumstances, exhibitors may withdraw from competition, but no entry fees will be returned. 26. Exhibitors showing dogs are not permitted to hold conversation with the Judge during competition and any exhibitor who persists in addressing the Judge after being requested not to do so by the Ring Steward, the Judge or any member of the Committee may be disqualified and any prize awarded to his/her dog be forfeited. No persons other than Exhibitors (Officials excepted), will be allowed in the ring during the judging of classes or specials. 27: Unentered Animals: No animal other than an exhibit shall be allowed within the precincts of the show during its continuance, except by permission of the Committee of the Kennel Club. 28: Appeal: Should any questions arise not provided for in these Regulations or by the Kennel Club Rules and Regulations, the decision of the Committee shall be final, subject to appeal to the Kennel Club. 29: Parent Responsibility: The Committee would like to point out that parents are responsible for the actions of their children and any damage caused by them within the precincts of the Show. 30. The Club will note tolerate any kind of abusive behaviour to its Officers, Committee or staff on the showground or in the car park. Anyone found to be behaving in this manner will be asked to leave and a report will be sent to the Kennel Club. 31. Bank Charges: Exhibitors will be liable for any Bank Charges should their cheques not be cleared by our Bankers plus a £10 Administration Fee. MOST IMPORTANT Please keep this Venue clean An exercise area will be provided and owners or handlers of dogs whose dogs foul the showground or surrounding areas are expected to clear up the mess. There will be adequate bins and equipment provided and special stewards will be appointed to enforce these arrangements. EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE In the event of any cheque not being honoured on the first presentation to the Club’s Bank the exhibitor will be held liable for any Bank charges incurred, plus a £10 administration fee. Failure to fully reimburse the outstanding debt to the Club will result in the matter being reported to the Kennel Club. WELFARE OF DOGS Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licenced event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations
