DR FORSELIUS BACKE: Chalmers Studentbostäder offers 118 newly produced smoke-free apartments in Sweden’s first environmentally gold classified student accommodation. Gold classification means that the property has been built to high environmental and sustainability standards in terms of energy, indoor environment and building materials. Electricity and hot water will be measured individually. The apartments have 1000 MB broadband connection. An additional mandatory amount of 170 sek to cover Internet and Council of Trustee membership fees will be charged. The rent amount is based on a 12 month system. The kitchenette includes a fridge/freezer (60/40), a stove with an oven, kitchen sink, kitchen cupboards and drawers as well as a broom closet. The bathrooms are fully tiled and have a toilet, shower and towel rail. Leasing will commence 9 April and the apartments will be assigned based on queuing time and submission of an application via Boplats. Advertising and leasing is divided into four phases and occupancy will commence on 26 June. Apartments The apartments are unfurnished and consist of one room and a kitchenette. They co me in two sizes, 24 square meters (112 apartments) and 35 square meters (six apartments). The apartments are light with very large windows. The larger apartments are located on the top level and have balconies. The other apartments have a communal balcony on each level on the side of the building and there is also outdoor space in the courtyard. Link to level plans The interior walls are white and the apartments have light linoleum flooring. The smaller apartments have two closets and three wall-mounted cupboards while the larger apartments have a walk-in closet/storage space and four wall-mounted cupboards. The kitchenette consists of a fridge and freezer (60 liter/40 liter), a regular sized stove with four plates and an oven, space for a microwave, a kitchen sink in stainless steel, three drawers, three wall-mounted cabinets, a lower cabinet and a broom closet. The stove has not yet been fitted in the images below and the kitchen tiles will be in white and not green as shown in the images. The bathrooms are fully tiled in white and green and contain a shower, toilet and towel rail. The rent includes hot and cold water. Electricity and hot water are measured individually. The apartments have 1000 MB broadband connection. An additional mandatory amount of 160 sek to cover Internet and Council of Trustee membership fees will be charged. There are no TV or analogue telephone outlets. Communal areas The property offers a communal laundry area with three stations, each of which is equipped with two washing machines, a drying cabinet and a tumble dryer. Laundry rooms are available around the clock, seven days a week. Mail boxes are at entrance level and there is an environment room for waste and a room for large items of waste at basement level. There is a communal outdoor space in the courtyard, covered bicycle parking facilities and parking space for car pool vehicles. Otherwise, parking space is limited. Environmental Gold Certification The new student accommodation at Dr Forselius Backe is certified according to Environmental Gold standards. This means that the property has been built to high environmental and sustainability standards in terms of energy, indoor environment and building materials. Gold classification also means that both the site itself and the property are smoke-free zones. How to apply The apartments will be assigned based on queuing time and submission of an application via Boplats Göteborg. Advertising and leasing is divided into four phases. It is not possible to apply for a specific apartment. You will be assigned one of the apartments included in each phase. Phase 1 A and 1 B: leasing will commence on 9 April Phase 2: leasing will commence 22 April Phase 3: leasing will commence 5 May Phase 4: leasing will commence 18 May To be eligible for housing you must be a student at Chalmers University of Technology or the University of Gothenburg and achieve a pass grade in at least 25% of subjects per term based on full-time study. You must also be a member in one of Gothenburg’s National Union of Students. More about tenancy regulations (link to rules for tenancy) Since the construction project is still ongoing viewing of the apartments is not possible. Moving in and receiving keys will take place on two occasions, 26 and 30 June. Phase 1A and 1B It is not possibly to apply for a specific apartment. You will be assigned one of the apartments included in each phase.
