A Midsummer Night’s
Dream Jr: Bottom’s
Dream
(ages 10 to 17)
This conservatory will produce an adaption of William
Shakespeare’s A Midsummer
Night’s Dream. Young actors will learn the process of
producing a play, auditioning, character study, scene
work, musical production, and voice production. This
program is targeted to serious students of theater.
Using Shakespeare’s original language and verse, this
unique take on his classic fantasy play focuses on a
heated rivalry in the fairy realm between Titania and
Oberon. At the same time, a group of lovable mortals
rehearse a play they hope to present at the wedding of
The Duke of Athens and The Queen of the Amazons.
These two worlds meet when Bottom (a weaver) is
trapped under a fairy’s spell and is hilariously transformed! Set to original music!

This two week session introduces students to musical
theatre. Students will play games and also rehearse
and perform a cabaret style show. Less intense than
the Conservatory, students will have a fun time playing
and learning as they do so! A great preparatory class
for future STC students.
