How it Works
Have fun while giving back to the kids and the trails! TrailsforYouth.Org and Singletrack Cycling Open
Registration Events team up to present “Score One for the Kids”, a program that encourages camaraderie as your team
of 2-3 fundraises together to meet your goal incentive level to earn exciting rewards. The funds will be going directly to
TrailsforYouth.Org and SCORE. Both are local 501(c)(3) nonprofits that are dedicated to providing outdoor activities for
youth which you can read more about on the next page. Your fundraising efforts will be rewarded with a free team race
entry to one of SCORE’s 2015 Cranky Monkey Mountain Bike Races and the knowledge that you’re giving back to the
community. For more details or to register to start fundraising, visit www.racescore.org.

about TY
TrailsforYouth.org
Time in nature reduces stress and anxiety and improves overall health. Many
children do not have the resources and opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities.
TrailsforYouth.Org (TYO) has been providing outdoor mountain bikes for at-risk
youth since 2003. Over 10,000 kids have benefited both physically and mentally
from TYO programs. Many different events that challenge kids on many different
levels — trail biking, kayaking, fishing, youth mountain bike racing, hikes, after
school clubs, week-long camps, overnight camping trips, fishing — all connecting
youth to nature, overcoming obstacles, improving health. Our programs are simple
but effective – provide positive reinforcement, safe exercise, healthy nutrition and
fun in the outdoors. As youth overcome obstacles on the trails they overcome
obstacles in life.
According to the CDC, “black and Hispanic youth have higher prevalence’s of asthma, overweight, and type 2
diabetes” and “Hispanic youth experience proportionately more anxiety-related behaviors and depression than do
non-Hispanic white youth.” TYO programs work with these minority populations to provide these at-risk youth
with the tools for success in achieving a healthy lifestyle.
TYO programs provide direct, safe access for these youth to be active outdoors with over 100 yearly events to
support our vision to significantly improve the social-emotional and physical health of every youth we serve. TYO
teaches kids to overcome obstacles on the trail and in life!
Singletrack Cycling Open Registration Events
Singletrack Cycling Open Registration Events, Inc. (SCORE) is a nonprofit founded to create unique race experiences where mountain
bikers can enjoy the sport of racing while giving back to the trails. All
SCORE’s net proceeds are invested directly back into the trails through
donation to the local mountain bike clubs such as MORE (Mid-Atlantic
Off-Road Enthusiasts) and other IMBA (International Mountain
Bicycling Association) chapters. With these funds, SCORE helps to
create, protect, and promote mountain biking opportunities for riders
of all skill levels through providing services and funds for the purpose
of maintaining, repairing, and building mountain bike trails.
