Overview of the
Position
This exempt position reports directly
to the Risk Manager and will develop,
oversee, and administer RTA’s Safety
Program in accordance with applicable
laws and regulations to ensure a safe
working environment. The first ever
Safety and Security Officer is the primary
contact for all Agency security related
issues arising at RTA facilities, bus stops,
transit centers, and onboard the buses.
Additionally, this important position
functions as the primary contact for
the security guard services contract,
and is the security liaison with local law
enforcement agencies. The position
oversees the Agency’s System Security
and Emergency plans and coordinates
drill and training efforts.
Other key responsibilities of this
position include:
• Acts as the Agency’s security liaison
with law enforcement agencies;
• Develops, implements, and
