Innovative solutions for waste Recycling Technologies provides a machine and a service to recycle unsorted plastic waste. Our flagship machine, the RT7000 utilises our advanced Fluidised Bed Reactor, the WarwickFBR . This system converts unsorted Mixed Plastic Waste – that is currently disposed of in landfill or incinerators – into a low sulphur hydrocarbon we call Plaxx . Our system offers the lowest cost environmentally responsible solution for Mixed Plastic Waste. ™ The accumulation of Mixed Plastic Waste in landfill and oceans is reaching colossal proportions. Recycling Technology’s machine, the RT7000, converts Mixed Plastic Wasted into Plaxx . ™ TM Plastic Waste 300 250 Mtonne 200 150 100 50 1950 WORLD EUROPE 2010 Plastic is a truly versatile and valuable material, so it’s not surprising that its production and use is growing exponentially. However, the acute problem of plastic waste is forcing companies to use less than ideal methods to discard it. They either bury it, burn it or in some cases, dump it. At Recycling Technologies, we offer a recycling system that is an environmentally beneficial and commercially attractive alternative. Introducing the RT7000 Recycling Technologies has developed an innovative modular solution which converts Mixed Plastic Waste into Plaxx™. A blueprint for recycling Mixed Plastic Waste SMALLER SCALE – A DISTRIBUTED SOLUTION MODULE 1. Unsorted Mixed Plastic Waste is shredded and dried using standard techniques. MODULE 2. The Mixed Plastic Waste undergoes The RT7000 is sized to allow it to be located at sites with Mixed Plastic Waste. Advanced Thermal Treatment, producing a hot hydrocarbon gas from which contamination is removed. This distributed approach removes the need for costly transportation to centralised facilities. MODULE 3. The clean gas is condensed to form a clean low sulphur hydrocarbon we call Plaxx . MODULAR CONSTRUCTION TM The modular design allows assembly and testing in our factory which is less costly and disruptive for clients than on-site construction. Our modular design allows us to take the solution to the This concept also facilitates financing/leasing as systems can easily be relocated. problem avoiding the need for transporting waste. PATENTED TECHNOLOGY This unique approach to Mixed Plastic Waste has been patented in the UK and international applications have been filed. Plaxx™ Plaxx is a valuable hydrocarbon product. Solid at room temperature, Plaxx is easily transported for multiple uses. TM TM It can be used as a feedstock for more plastic, closing the virtuous circle. Alternatively it is a Slack Wax equivalent and can be sold globally for this purpose. In making Plaxx , a commodity product, Mixed Plastic Waste has been recycled. TM Alternatively Plaxx is a low sulphur Heavy Fuel Oil, which can be used for heating, power generation or marine propulsion. TM This flexibility allows Mixed Plastic Waste to be recycled in the most commercially and environmentally beneficial way. Plaxx TM TM RT7000 MODULE 1. SLACK WAX FUEL How does it work Technology Partners “ It is evident that this SUSTAINABILITY AS A SERVICE technology should have financial, environmental and economic benefits, not only for Swindon Borough Council but further afield as well.” Recycling Technologies is working with companies that currently have the problem of Mixed Plastic Waste. We will provide an RT7000 on suitable customer sites and the personnel to recycle Mixed Plastic Waste as a service. This removes the need for our customers to invest in facilities or to worry about the operations. Recycling Technologies is delighted to be working with a range of academic and industrial partners to ensure that the RT7000 is the definitive solution for Mixed Plastic Waste. BERNIE BRANNAN, BOARD DIRECTOR, SERVICE DELIVERY, SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL Our aim is to make recycling Mixed Plastic Waste the easy and profitable option for our customers. 12M Who is this solution for? Financial Support MATERIAL RECYCLING FACILITIES with significant PAPER & CARDBOARD RECYCLING MILLS Our aspiration to recycle Mixed Plastic Wasteis being shared by a range of government bodies and institutions who have provided financial assistance for the development of the RT7000 and Plaxx . 20M quantities of residual plastic waste after PET and HDPE etc have been removed. TM that have mill reject material. This does contain some cardboard fibre but is predominantly a wide mixture of plastic packaging. RETAIL DISTRIBUTION CENTRES Packaging from retail outlets is returned to the distribution centres. Significant quantities of plastic are currently available. We have successfully trialled this RDC material. ANAEROBIC DIGESTION plants produce volumes of mixed plastic packaging waste after the bio-material has been removed for the digestor. We have successfully trialled material directly from the output of food waste AD plant. “ We are now witnessing a sea change in the economic case of this conversion and Recycling Technologies is at the forefront of it. PETER JONES OBE ENVIRONMENTALIST 25M SUITABLE SITES Ideally customers need to have space to incorporate a layout such as above within a covered area. If space is restricted some of the layout can be housed externally. Sites must be licensed for re ceiving and treating waste and have the relevant permissions for appropriate truck movements. COMPLIANCE Emissions from the RT7000 comply with the all applicable legislation, Waste Incineration Directives (WID) do not apply as waste is not being combusted. “Recycling Technology provides the most economically beneficial solution to the problem of Mixed Plastic Waste for markets globally.
