Day Trip:
Sierra Foothills Wineries Trip
Thursday, May 7, 2015
Along with picks and shovels, people brought grapevines to the Sierra Foothills in the mid-1800s where warm, sunny days followed by cool, crisp nights
yield grapes of remarkable intensity. We will first enjoy a walking tour and
tasting at Renwood Winery, which produces award-winning, limited production Zinfandel, Rhone and Italian varietal wines. After visiting Renwood we
will travel to Bella Piazza, which is known for its traditional head-pruned,
dry-farmed Zinfandels alongside the newer, innovative Italian varietals. Along
with a wine tasting there, we will savor a buffet luncheon that includes two
