Women’s Conference Committee and the Women and Gender Advocacy Center present…. Colorado State University’s 10th Annual Women’s Conference “UNITY AT THE INTERSECTIONS: 10 YEARS OF CELEBRATING DIVERSITY IN WOMEN’S LIVES” Saturday, March 28th, 2015 CALL FOR PROGRAMS We invite you to contribute to the quality of programs offered at this year’s conference by submitting a program proposal that builds on our theme. 10 years ago, the first conference theme was “Celebrating the Diversity in Women’s Lives”. For the 10-year anniversary, we want to recommit our continued acknowledgement of the multiple identities that women hold to recognize that these identities effect our gender experience. This year’s theme, “Unity at the Intersections” is a call to CSU and the surrounding community to continue building relationships in honor of and despite our complex issues. Program Guidelines Program Sessions are 50 minutes The learning objectives for the conference include: ● Integrating and understanding multiple identities as they relate to gender. ● Creating a network for community members committed to understanding and addressing challenges associated with gender in society. The following guidelines are suggested as you plan program submissions: ● Participants will include undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff who identify as all genders. ● Creativity is important in presentation, style, format, title and description of workshop. ● Participants may have varied levels of knowledge and experience with the topics presented. ● Highly participatory formats are generally most well received and participants will have a wide variety of learning styles. ● Presentations should be multi- and cross- culturally mindful o (i.e. intersections of gender, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation and ability).
