and raise over $50,000! The suggested donation for each guest is $100; the
cost to provide one hour of therapy to a child.
How much?
There is no “ticket price”
for the breakfast. All guests

Table Captain
Steps to Success
Who to invite?
- If you have invited guests in the past, use the list we provided you with as a start.
- Brainstorm new prospects – think of friends, co-workers, clients and vendors you can invite.
(Please utilize the brainstorming worksheet available at www.ritecarewa.org/tablecaptain)
How to invite them:
- Invitation Letters / Email
Formal invitations are included with your packet.
Send an invitation letter to all prospects before calling them (sample provided).
Remember, letters very seldom raise money! Don’t wait for their response.
Follow-up with a phone call or visit to each of your prospects.
Send follow-up letters to all prospects invited to the breakfast (sample provided).
- Please personally call or visit all of your prospects by Friday, May 22nd. Ask for donations or pledges from
anyone who cannot attend the breakfast. If they cannot attend, donors may write a check, make a pledge
(RiteCare will bill them) or use VISA or Mastercard. Have donors give their pledge cards to you so you can bring
them to the breakfast.
When to follow up:
Call or email your guests on Tuesday, May 26th to remind them of the breakfast.

About our Speaker
Mark Peterson has been broadcasting his voice through radio
and television for more than two decades.
As an anchor of KXLY’s Good Morning Northwest, Mark’s witt
and ability to communicate attracts thousands of viewers each
day. Few people are aware that at an early age Mark struggled to
communicate verbally. His mom says that he’s been making up
for it ever since.
Come to our Beyond Words Breakfast to hear more about Mark’s
journey to become a gifted speaker and on-air personality and
what RiteCare is doing to help children achieve communication
skills they need to thrive in school and in life.
Table Captain Tips
We suggest you invite more than ten guests. Our experience shows that
about 10-15% of the invited guests will be unable to attend at the last minute;
an overflow of guests is easy to accommodate.
If you are unable to completely fill your table, please let us know as soon as
possible.
If someone can’t attend, but would like to donate, you may bring those
checks with you or direct them to the RiteCare’s website (www.ritecarewa.org)
where they can make a gift through a secure online donation site.
Day of the Breakfast
Arrive Early - Doors open at 7:30 a.m.
- Please arrive by 7:30 a.m. so that you can greet your guests, either in the lobby or at your table.
Collect Your Guests’ Contribution Envelopes
- Towards the end of the program, a speaker will ask guests to “get out their checkbook.”
- Your role as Table Captain is to pass the Table Captain envelope (provided) around the table for attendees to
insert their pledge cards and/or checks. You can remind guests that they can pay by credit card, check or cash and
even in monthly installments. Volunteers will come by and collect the envelope from your table so that the total
amount raised can be announced before the end of the program.
Thank-you Calls
- After the event, please call and thank your guests for attending.
- RiteCare staff will email each guest shortly after the breakfast.
- Please make phone calls to all guests that could not attend.
Our kids need you!
