These dredgers operate under very harsh conditions and are structurally reinforced to enable operations staff to drag the dredgers from slurry and settling ponds onto the surrounding hard rock embankments either for maintenance purposes or recovery from blast areas. These dredgers come in three frame sizes, 1500, 1200 and 1000, and input power ranges from 100 kW (130 HP) to 600 kW (800 HP). SPECIFICATIONS Principle Dimensions Length O A 17.0 m (approx.) The design is a three-piece modular dredger with each module being truckable. Two side pontoons required for floatation and stability, and one centre pontoon housing the engine room, fuel and oil tanks and operators cabin. The design enables quick dismantling and assembly for transportation. The assembled unit may be transported short distances on a low bed vehicle. Traditional keel cooling has been removed from these dredgers reducing the damage risk to cooling tubes during skid removal of the dredgers from ponds. Cooling of the main engine and hydraulic oils are achieved through air coolers fitted in the engine room.
