FORMATS:
WAV:
All kit pieces are available as 24-bit, 44.1 KHz .wav files. Through the use of these files, our samples are compatible with
virtually every hardware and software sampler format. The files are non-normalized, preserving the original playing
dynamics and allowing for flexibility in programming. Even if you don’t own a sampler or drum replacement software, the
.wav files can be manually placed on the timeline of your DAW of choice to augment or replace your existing drum tracks.
SLATE DIGITAL TRIGGER (.tci):
Trigger is a real-time drum replacement tool that monitors the close microphone channel of an existing drum recording and
replaces it with a velocity-matched sample. Because Trigger is intended to be used for shell replacement, cymbals are not
available in this format. Articulation selections can be made using the articulation menu above the microphone position
label in the mixer.
DRUMAGOG 5 (.gog):
WaveMachine Labs Drumagog 5 is a real-time drum replacement tool that monitors the close mic channel of an existing
drum recording and replaces it with a velocity-matched sample. Because Drumagog is intended to be used for shell
replacement, cymbals are not available in this format.

MASSEY DRT 2.0 (.drt):
Massey Plugins DRT 2.0 is a non-realtime drum replacer that reads timbre and velocity information of a drum performance
to generate MIDI or print samples. Similar in workflow to Digidesign’s Sound Replacer plug-in, it features a VERY accurate
detection engine and is available only for Pro Tools. The full version of DRT 2.0 is required for use with our pre-configured
DRT stacks.
KONTAKT 5 (VST, AAX, AU):
The Jay Maas Signature Series Drum Sample Library features pre-configured Kontakt instruments for use with latest, full
version of the program. These instruments will work in demo mode in the Kontakt 5 Player application and are time-limited
to 15 minutes before a DAW restart is required to continue using them. The Kontakt 5 Player is not officially supported.

THE KONTAKT MIXER TAB
Mixer Controls: Each channel has volume and pan
functionality along with solo, mute and polarity
inversion buttons.
The output selectors for each microphone position are
located underneath the mute/solo/polarity switches.
Using these drop-down menus the user can select the
output to which each microphone is routed. This allows
for extremely flexible multi-out routing of microphone

channels in your DAW of choice.
If you’ve changed the Kontakt routing output
configuration since starting Kontakt, you will need to
reset the Kontakt engine by clicking the “!” button on
the top of the Kontakt main window in order to get the
updated mixer assignment choices to appear in the
drop-down menus.
Kontakt Routing Output Configuration
Effects: Each channel has a flexible and powerful
effects section accessible by clicking on the microphone
position label under the output selector.
Each effect has a master bypass control that will
illuminate when the effect is active. Clicking this control
will turn the effect on and off without changing its
settings.
Mixer Presets Menu: The presets in this menu are
designed to give the user a good starting point for the
instrument in a mix situation. Additionally, several
options exist for special functions such as globally
bypassing the instrument’s effects or resetting the
output configuration.

THE KONTAKT OPTIONS TAB
MIDI Velocity Limit: Sets a velocity limit that the
incoming MIDI data will not exceed. For example,
with the MIDI velocity limit set at 100, any MIDI with a
velocity from 1-100 will play back normally, but any MIDI
with a velocity of 101 or greater will play back as if the
incoming velocity value was 100. This is useful when
you like the timing and performance of a part, but would
like it to play back less aggressively.
Hi Hat Options Tab
Humanize: Clicking this button will add a small bit of
velocity humanization to the incoming MIDI data. The
amount of humanization has been pre-set to an optimal
value for each kit piece and therefore requires no
configuration other than “on” or “off”.
Key Mapping: In this section, the user can adjust the
MIDI note used for each articulation of the instrument.
Immediately to the right of the key mapping display is
the “MIDI Learn” button. When this button is pressed,
the next incoming MIDI note will be assigned to that
articulation. Next to the MIDI Learn button is the RAM
manager. Using the RAM manager buttons, the user
can load and unload articulations from RAM if they are
not being used.
Mapping Presets: Each kit piece has pre-configured
MIDI maps for nearly all 3rd party drum programs,
many electronic drum kits and the General MIDI
standard. This is useful for using MIDI grooves from
other manufacturers.
Other Controls: Some kit pieces have extra controls
to address certain parameters unique to that kit piece
(e.g. CC4 pedal control for hi hats and felt/plastic beater
selection for kick drums).
