COMMUNICATION DIFFICULTIES Thank you everyone for your patience with the major technological difficulties we have been experiencing. Having no phone, fax or email has been very difficult. ANZAC GARDEN I would like to congratulate everyone involved in the DO OUR BEST Enrolments garden beautification project. Our ANZAC memorial garden looks fantastic and is now a showpiece making the front of our school look extremely attractive. NAPLAN All students have been involved in preparation for NAPLAN testing. The tests will be in week 4. ANZAC SERVICE Our ANZAC service will be held at 6:00am on Saturday the 25th of April here at school. Our senior students and staff will conduct the service. All community members are welcome at the service. Students are asked to wear their green and gold school uniform. Breakfast will be available for sale at the tuckshop after the service. ANZAC biscuits will also be for sale. ANZAC DAY MARCH We will be marching on Saturday morning at Boyne Island. Students are asked to wear full school uniform (green and gold shirts) including a school hat, wear enclosed shoes and bring a water bottle with them for marching. Staff will meet the students at the Boyne Plaza outside the Boyne Chemist at 8.15am. Students will march up to Stirling Park for the ceremony. School leaders will be laying the school wreath purchased by the P&C. OFFICE UNATTENDED The office will be unattended next Monday 27th April. As your children grow older and everything becomes more complicated, the first thing to give way will be your weakened relationship. SCHOOL PHOTOS CHASE THE BAKER DATES School photo envelopes have been sent home. These are individually named for each student. Sibling envelopes and spare envelopes are available at the office. Money is to be returned to the office in the named envelope. Photos will be taken on Friday 15th May 2015. Next Friday 1st May is our first Chase the Baker. Students bring in an ingredient – Flour, Sugar (brown/caster), Nuts (Walnuts, pecans, raw peanuts), cocoa. The kids ‘Chase the Baker’ around the school and swap their ingredient for an entry ticket into winning a large chocolate block. This is also a FREE DRESS DAY. SCHOOL JUMPERS If you would like to purchase a school jumper, the order form will be at the office. The approximate cost is $23.00. No money is required when placing your order. The aim of the Calliope Catwalk Awards is to provide amateur designers the opportunity to explore their creativity and provide a stepping stone into the fashion industry, giving local designers the opportunity to compete and show case the fashions trends of today and tomorrow. The entries for the awards close 3rd July, with garments not required until 17th July. Award Winners Presentation Gala being held on Saturday 1st August 2015, 3pm at the Calliope School Hall.
