Displacement Diffuser QV / QH / QR
Description
Accessories
The SCHAKO displacement diffuser is ideal for industrial plants
and laboratories which produce large amounts of hazardous
substances. The supply air enters the room at a low velocity with
a temperature difference of max -4 K in the cooling mode. The
low-induction flow displaces the contaminated air. If the displacement diffusers are used at floor level, the supply air
spreads out across the floor and is directed upwards by the convection flow from heat sources. When using displacement diffusers,
the return air should be as high as possible. Make sure to distribute the displacement diffusers evenly over the whole floor
surface area, to ensure effective floor flushing.
Especially in the presence of hazardous substances of high specific gravity, the displacement diffuser can also be used in the
occupied zone at a height of 3-4 metres. In these cases, the return air should be evacuated at floor level to about 50%.
The displacement diffuser is available as either the quarter cylinder type QV for installation in corners (90 throw), the half cylinder type QH for wall and column mounting (180 throw), or the
cylindrical type QR for mid-room installation (360 throw). The
housing of the displacement diffuser consists of a perforated
sheet faceplate, a base and a connection piece made of sheet
steel. A filter pocket is fitted inside to ensure an even flow across
the whole surface area. The filter pocket cleans the supply air
and ensures
a completely uniform intake of fresh air over the entire diffuser
area of the grille. The perforated faceplate can easily be removed
to change the filter pocket.
The diagrams are only valid until the supply air meets a heat
source due to laws of physics.
To simplify system regulation, a throttling element including a
measuring sensor or a hit-and-miss damper including a measuring sensor, can be installed at the connection pipe of the displacement diffuser to adjust the air volume.

Specification texts
Displacement diffuser with removeable perforated faceplate for
easy cleaning according to VDI 6022.
Suitable for low-turbulence supply air introduction at low throw
velocity. Consisting of a base, front casing and round connection pipe from the top made of galvanised sheet steel. To
achieve even air distribution, a removable synthetic fibre filter
fleece, alternatively a perforated plate pyramid made of perforated sheet steel, is installed. The displacement diffuser can also be
provided with a high-quality powder coating in the RAL colour
9010 (white) or in a different RAL colour.
