Our Mission
The mission of the Science,
Technology, Engineering, and
Mathematics— Inspiring the Next
Generation (STEM-ING) is to heighten
awareness and generate interest in
STEM and STEM related careers
among female middle and high school
students through fun, practical handson approaches.
2014 Results
Our 2014 STEM-ING event was a huge
success, with over 130 participants from
31 different schools. The program had a
positive impact on our participants and
the local community.
After attending STEM-ING:
• Participants expressed greater interest
in STEM careers and felt encouraged to
take more math/science courses!

participants saw increased interest in
STEM related topics from their
students!
2014 Participant Feedback
“STEM-ING is awesome! Someday, I want my
little girl to participate in STEM. When I am
too old for STEM, I want to volunteer.”
“My daughter definitely enjoyed the
workshops, lunch, and atmosphere.”
“I am so pleased with this program I can't
help but smile; it fills the gaps where I as a
parent am unable to provide my daughter
with the higher level thinking in science
and/or mathematics”
“I am thankful that this program broadens
the minds of young girls, providing them with
insight into career opportunities other than
the traditional roles as teachers, nurses,
and/or social workers. BRAVO to STEM
Promoters, Leaders, Teachers, and
Volunteers.”
This one-day event offers female
students one-on-one interaction
with positive STEM role models
and professionals from the local
community, as well as hands-on
STEM related workshops designed
to inspire through fun, practical,
and challenging STEM
experiences!
Participants receive T-shirt, lunch,
and snacks.
Do not miss this unique
opportunity!
