FLORAL
Description
Think Carman Miranda without the
Pineapple. Inspired by bundles of
flowers and happy spring-in-your-
step moments when you can smell
summer in the air and have nothing
but a beaming smile upon your face.
This corset uses both vintage and
modern fabrics mounted on each
coutil pattern piece. The side panels
use contrast yellow to compliment
the colour palette of the floral print. A
waist tape was added to the coutil and
it is fully lined.
Materials Used
2m 1930s green floral curtain fabric,
1m medium weight coutil,
0.5m green lining,
1m G700 woven interfacing,
200m thread,
0.8m petersham tape,
3m 5mm spiral steels,
4 11”flat steels,
11” silver split busk,
26 5mm silver eyelets with grommets,
4m ribbon ties,
and a bundle of artificial flowers.

Alterations
The initial 1890s pattern the bust line
was raised to make a more curved line
over the bust. The pattern was also
lengthened.
