Dido
Belle
her story
Dido Elizabeth Belle
There are few paintings which
attract as much interest and
admiration as that of the
portrait of Lady Elizabeth
Murray and Dido Elizabeth
Belle, by Johann Zoffany,
which hangs in the
Ambassador’s Room at
Scone Palace.
Their lives, and in particular
Dido’s, are brought to life in
the beautiful, period film
‘Belle’ . Our own exhibition
‘Dido Belle - her Story’, tells
not only of her extraordinary
life, but also her life in the
context of legal history.
