Multi-Policy Discount Validation – Renewal
At 120 days prior to renewal offer generation, AS400 will validate if the Homeowners policy qualifies for the
Multi-Policy Discount (MPD), using the below “validation process.”
If the policy has the MPD but no associated companion policy, AS400 will search for the active companion
policy; if none is found, the Agent of record will receive an alert in Agent Intranet advising that a policy does
not have an active companion policy but has the MPD applied. There will also be a Monday weekly report
sent to the clubs, along with anyone else SAO has identified, summarizing all of the policies from the
previous week sent to the agents.
At 90 days prior to renewal offer generation, AS400 will again validate if the Homeowners policy qualifies
for the MPD, using the below “validation process.”
If AS400 cannot validate, the MPD will be removed and a letter will be sent to the insured informing them
the discount will be removed at renewal. The letter is attached below.
Validation Process @ 120 days and 90 days:






If the policy has the MPD and has an active associated companion policy, the MPD will remain on
the policy.
If a policy has the MPD but no associated companion policy, AS400 will search for an active
companion policy; if found, the association is done and the discount remains on the policy.
If the policy has the MPD but no associated companion policy, AS400 will search for the active
companion policy. If none is found, at 120 days prior, an alert is sent to the agent. At 90 days
prior, the discount is removed and a letter is sent to the insured informing them the discount will be
removed at renewal. A note is also added to the policy.
If a policy does not have the MPD and no association, AS400 will look for an active policy. If
found, the association is done and the MPD is applied.
If a policy does not have the MPD and no association, AS400 will look for a companion policy. If
none is found, the discount remains as “none.”
A daily report will be generated to Underwriting for policies with no active companion policy for
further follow-up.
The auto policy can be purchased up to 60 days prior to renewal generation keeping the MPD on the
renewal. If the auto policy is purchased after the renewal has been sent, then we will re-apply the discount
and re-rate the renewal.
NOTE: There will be no changes to how new business validation is done today or to how the MPD is
applied mid-term.
