From our Prez!
Fellow Scubanauts:
This is the beginning of another year for the Jacksonville Scubanauts. I would like to
extend a big THANK YOU to last year’s club officers. I think you will all agree that
they did a great job. Another big THANK YOU to this upcoming year’s officers. I
would also like to thank Nica McAnany for publishing the newsletter each month, to
our trip leaders: Nica, Vicky Tyde and Nadine Norton for putting together the trips
for the past year, to Mike Dupes for coordinating the photo contest, to Lynda Dupes
for administering our Facebook page, to Bob Riddle for updating the website, to Phil
and Rusty, Nica and Bob and Peggy and myself for coordinating/hosting the club’s
social events and to anyone else that I may have forgotten. My last thank you is to all
of you, the club members, for your participation and support in helping to make last
year another successful year for our club.
In looking back at the last year, we welcomed a few additional members. Financially,
the club budget is status quo. Our Facebook page has received numerous “likes” and
our website continues to receive numerous hits. Several members shared their dive
stories from a number of sites throughout the world. We heard about diving in the
Florida Keys, Venice, the Springs, Bali and other exotic Indonesian islands, Roatan
(welcome back), Mexico, Hawaii, Offshore Jax, and West Palm Beach which included
its unique Blue Heron Bridge. There was ample food, drink and fun at the summer
beach party, the Super bowl party, the oyster roast, and the Christmas party. We had
excellent speakers at a number of our meetings. Jim Davis shared some helpful safety
tips each month. There were great pictures submitted for the photo contest and the
Copralite award was passed around to a few well deserving members. It was a great
year and your board has plans for another great year! It should be interesting since
the Board is once again comprised of all female members! I’m looking forward to
sharing it with my fellow Scubanauts and I hope you all feel the same.

2015—2016Trips !
We need trip leaders for the 2015 dive season!
2017 Roatan trip— Dates are being discussed and will be announced shortly. Our 2015
trip was a big hit with 20 divers going!
Dive West Palm Beach Dive Plan: dive Saturday Aug 29 and Sunday Aug 30, 2015.
Charter is the Little Deeper Dive boat out of Phil Foster Park. All dives are 2 tanks Cost: $58.30 / person (incl 6% tax) = $175.00 for the two days of 3 dive trips plus tips
that are not included. Optional tanks: air - $10.60 / nitrox $15.90 each (x 6) and

location: Phil Foster Park @ Blue Heron Bridge. You choose your own hotel and make

WHO has the Copralite award?????
Rob Hagen is the current possessor of the
copralite award. He will be looking for any tales
to be told so that he can pass it off! Anyone
got any tall tales to tell??
