WHY: For 44 years, Project Home has been committed to improving the quality and affordability of
housing for low-to-moderate-income residents of Dane and Green Counties. Project Home builds strong
communities by helping residents save money and energy through its weatherization and home repair
programs. We also coordinate and operate, privately funded community service events and programs like
Hammer with a Heart, Paint-a-thon and our Water Heater Replacement Program.
“Through Hammer with a Heart, we are able to bring people together to make a big impact for
community members in need. Our program helps area seniors, veterans, single-parent families and
people with disabilities or significant health issues, on a very personal level. This is a big program, and it
would not be possible without the generosity, dedication and support of our sponsors, donors, and skilled
and community volunteers. They are the ones that bring Hammer with a Heart to life. I cannot thank
them enough.” stated Project Home Outreach Manager and Hammer with a Heart coordinator, Jason
Hafeman.
