Inspiring women to succeed personally and professionally Women’s Success Series 2014-2015 The Women’s Success Series brings together women of all ages who seek better lives, professionally and personally. The Series is intended to be a catalyst for women to think differently about success, a catalyst to think differently about themselves and a catalyst to think differently about how they live, work and play in Tuscarawas County. During each breakfast session, participants will hear from a dynamic woman who has enjoyed a measure of success right here in Tuscarawas County. Each session will have a book selection that the audience will read and partake in a discussion designed to move each participant to the next level in life. Connie Finton . Fri., Nov. 7, 2014 Connie Finton is widely recognized and respected in the community as a professional dairy farmer and a consummate volunteer for many organizations, with Union Hospital Auxiliary’s Warther’s Christmas Tree Festival at the top of the list. She is a member of the Tuscarawas County Farm Bureau; the Union Hospital Development and Community Relations Board; Tuscarawas County Job & Family Services Advisory Committee; Got Milk? Got Cookies? Got Books? Reading Enhancement Program; and she is the co-developer and charter member of Fit Youth Initiative. Additional commitments include national and state dairy farming organizations such as the National Milk Producers Federation Animal Health Committee and Dairy Co-ops. This extensive volunteerism led to Connie receiving the 2008 Lucille Nussdorfer Tuscarawas County Woman of the Year Award. She and her husband Cliff have three children and four grandchildren. Fri., Feb. 6, 2015 Vickie Lewis’ first experience in the restaurant industry began at a young age when she worked in her parents’ restaurant. Vickie’s career with McDonald’s began in 1977 when she and her husband joined the local McDonald’s owner, who was looking for assistance with his franchise so he could start his road to retirement. Today, she is owner operator of eight McDonald’s Restaurants in Tuscarawas and Harrison counties, and employs 456 people. Vickie has served as the national president of McDonald’s Women Operators Network; chairperson of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeastern Ohio and presently serves on their Board; and is on the NE Ohio Advertising Board. She earned a degree in nursing from Ohio University. Vickie has three daughters and five grandchildren. Featured Book: Money Rules by Jean Chatzky Wendy Zucal . Fri., April 10, 2015 Wendy Zucal is the executive director of the Dennison Depot Museum System which manages the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum, Historic Schoenbrunn Village and the Uhrichsville Clay Museum. She also oversees Polar Express Train Rides and the new Lucille’s Restaurant inside the Depot. She has served on multiple boards in the county such as the Economic Development and Finance Alliance and the Community Improvement Corporation, where she will be the first female president in the organizations 50-year history. Wendy is a graduate of Leadership Tuscarawas, Dale Carnegie and Disney Institute. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Marietta College and a master’s at Carnegie Mellon University. Wendy and her husband John, a school principal and councilman, have three adult children.
