Prior to submitting an Inquiry, please refer to the VSO Options in the Order Guide on FMC Dealer, Fleet.Ford.com, or the CONCEPS VSO Equipment Trailer ‘help screen’ to determine if the desired option is already available. For F650-F750 and LCF, please access CTT. OVERVIEW • To determine if a special option may be developed, an Inquiry must be submitted. An Inquiry is a request sent to Ford Motor Company to see if an option that is not currently available may be developed. • The procedure for submitting Inquiries for F650-F750 Super Duty and LCF differs from that of other vehicle lines. See last section of this document for details of this procedure. • 2-Step Inquiry process: Step 1: Submit Inquiry via CONCEPS Step 2: View Inquiry reply via web-based VSO Inquiry System within approximately two business days MINIMUM ORDER REQUIREMENTS • Minimum unit requirements for newly developed options will be determined by engineering on an individual basis. INQUIRY REVIEW PROCESS • • • • • • • • VSO Inquiries are reviewed for complexity and feasibility. An Inquiry reply notification is provided via e-mail within approximately 2 business days. The e-mail notification contains a hyperlink to the Inquiry Reply screen located within the web-based VSO Inquiry System. The response includes engineering feasibility, minimum unit requirements, estimated option availability timing, and pricing. If the terms communicated in the reply are acceptable to the customer, new option development will proceed once orders are submitted with special option code ‘VSO’. Special option code ‘VSO’ must be added to the VSO Trailer Information screen (by the dealer) which places the order on hold in the order bank while the requested option(s) are developed. Special option development may take approximately 14 to 30 days. When engineering development is complete, dealers are asked to provide the Vehicle Special Order team authorization to add the new special option code to their orders. The dealer may cancel the Inquiry at any time via the VSO Inquiry System. To do this click on the Cancel Inquiry button on the Inquiry Reply screen. Otherwise, Vehicle Special Order will close/cancel the Inquiry when the process is complete. vsomail1@ford.com 1-800-34FLEET, Prompt #4 1 of 10 Date Revised: 5/02/05 To identify an order as an Inquiry, place an ' X'by Inquiry on the VSO Equipment Trailer Information screen.
