STEP UP MEMBERSHIP
INTO
WHEN YOU GIVE
The Step Up Challenge Match provides a pool of dollars to inspire
like-minded philanthropists who may not be able to commit to a gift of
$10,000 at once. Members are able to gradually increase their gift from
$6,000 to $8,000 to $10,000 over three years and enjoy full membership
and recognition in the Tocqueville Society.
TOCQUEVILLE LEGACY CIRCLE
United Way brings people and organizations together to solve problems too big for
any of us to solve on our own. You make a significant annual commitment to
positively impact our community as a Tocqueville Society member. We want to
invite you to continue that impact by perpetuating your contribution. Your
contribution to our endowment leaves a legacy of solving the changing
needs of our community forever.
Q: What does it mean to be a member of the Tocqueville
Legacy Circle?
A: Tocqueville Society members have the opportunity to leave a legacy
by endowing their annual gift to United Way of South Hampton
Roads, supporting critical programs for the community forever.
Q: How does it work?
A: Members may join the Tocqueville Legacy Circle with a pledge of 20
times their annual gift. For example, if you wish to perpetuate a
$10,000 annual gift, you would pledge $200,000, which is the
minimum pledge to join.
Q: What does it mean to be a Founding Member?
A: If you endow your gift in the next 12 months, you will be listed as a
Tocqueville Legacy Circle Founding Member. Founding members will
receive additional recognition in theDirectory, on the Tocqueville and
Foundation websites, newsletters, and events.
“
There is no better way to help those in need who are underserved in this
region than to support United Way. This support allows for an informed
agency to do its good work where it is most needed. Suzanne and I believe
that the Tocqueville Society is the most efficient way to do the most good
and to reach those that need to be served.
