Eva Sapač, from 2000 engaged at the Institute for the The Slovenian Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage (Regional Office Maribor), is one of the pioneers of creating registers and metods of protecting modern architecture and urban layouts in Slovenia. As practical conservator for the monuments of modernist architecture and all other periods, she won the national Stele price for managing the reneval of teh castle Hompoš for the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Her research is focused on the theory and history of protection of cultural monuments, especially of twentieth century heritage. Magistrski študij iz konservatorstva arhitekture je opravila na Raymond Lemaire International Centre for Conservation na Univerzi v Leuvnu v Belgiji z raziskavo o povojni arhitekturi na Obali in delu arhitekta Eda Mihevca (2007). Na isti inštituciji je projektno sodelovala med 2006 in 2008 v projektih o preventivnem konservatorstvu stavbne dediščine. Od 2009 4 dela na Inštitutu za dediščino Sredozemlja Znanstveno-raziskovalnega središča Univerze na Primorskem kot raziskovalka in asistentka, kjer raziskuje stavbno dediščino in konservatorsko prakso na območju Istre in Jadrana, s poudarkom na 20. stoletju. Obenem je asistentka za več predmetov na Fakulteti za humanistične študije Univerze na Primorskem. Je sourednica knjige Edo Mihevc (Fakulteta z arhitekturo, Ljubljana, 2011). Neža Čebron Lipovec (Koper-Capodistria, Slovenia, 1980) is Bachelor of Arts in Art History (University of Ljubljana) with a Master after Master degree in Conservation of Monuments and Sites (Raymond Lemaire International Centre for Conservation, Catholic University Leuven, Belgium) where she carried out a research on post-war architecture on the Slovenian coast and on the work of the architect Edo Mihevc (2007). In the same institution she collaborated from 2006 to 2008 in projects related to preventive conservation of built heritage. Since 2009 she works as researcher at the Institute for Mediterranean Heritage at the Science and Research Centre of the University of Primorska where she investigates built heritage and conservation practice in the area of Istria and the Adriatic, with focus on the 20th century. Njegova raziskovalna področja so: arhitektura 19. in prve polovice 20. stoletja na Slovenskem, cerkvena umetnost dolgega 19. stoletja, problematika varstva arhitekturne dediščine, v zadnjem času pa tudi javni spomeniki. Sodeloval je (ali še sodeluje) na več projektih, med drugim Umetnostna topografija Slovenije, Likovna umetnost v prostoru mesta Maribor ipd. Rezultate svojih raziskav je objavil v različnih znanstvenih in strokovnih revijah (Acta historiae artis Slovenica, Studia Historica Slovenica, Annales, Kronika. Art historian, assistant professor Franci Lazarini, PhD., has graduated in 2007 from Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, subject: art history, with the master thesis Architecture of Ljubljana between 1780 and 1848 and in the year 2012 he completed his doctoral study at Faculty of Arts, University of Maribor, with the defence of dissertation The Church Architecture of the Lavantine Diocese in the Time of Prince-Bishop Mihael Napotnik (1889-1922). Since October 2007 he is employed at France Stele’s Institute of Art History, Scientific-research Center of Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Starting with academic year 2010/2011 he is also employed at Faculty of Arts, University of Maribor, at the Department for Art History, where he is teaching several subjects, e. g. History of Architecture and Art Topography. Že več let je zaposlena na Občini Postojna in se ukvarja z urejanjem prostora, pripravo prostorskih aktov in urbanizmom. Največ veselja pri delu ji prinašajo predvsem razvojni projekti s področja ohranjanja kulturne in naravne dediščine, ki predstavljajo osnovo za razvoj turizma in podeželja na Postojnskem. Anita Kranjc has a BA/BSc in geography and sociology and has acquired additional knowledge from the field of spatial planning as part of the interdisciplinary postgraduate studies in spatial and urban planning. For a number of years now, she has been employed at the Municipality of Postojna, where she deals with spatial planning, preparation of spatial planning documents and town planning. As part of her job she takes most pleasure in working on development projects from the field of cultural and natural heritage preservation, which are at the core of development of tourism and rural areas in Postojna and the surrounding area. Ajda Purger, from Koper - Slovenia, finished her studies of restoration of ceramics, archaeological finds and stone in Florence in 2006. She has been cooperating with the National museum of Slovenia (Conservation Department) since 2007 and has been working for the Conservation Centre ZVKDS since the present autumn. Ingegnere Edile e Dottore di ricerca in Scienze e Tecnologie per i Beni Archeologici e Architettonici presso l’Università di Padova (Italia); attualmente assegnista di ricerca con attività focalizzata sullo studio di edifici storici in cemento armato e, in particolare, di nuove tecniche di ripristino e rinforzo con malte cementizie polimero-modificate e sistema ‘Steel Reinforced Grout’. Il suo programma sperimentale è accompagnato da un’estesa campagna di indagini in situ su numerosi casi studio. Marija Jenko se je rodila leta 1961. Leta 1985 je diplomirala na arhitekturi univerze v Ljubljani, leto kasneje na likovni umetnosti, leta 1990 pa si je prislužila še magisterij iz grafične umetnosti. Za razstavo Paralela iz leta 2001 je skupaj s svojimi sodelavci na projektu leta 2002 prejela nagrado Trend Radiotelevizije Slovenija. Marija Jenko was born in 1961. In 1985 she graduated in architecture from the University of Ljubljana, earning an additional degree in fine arts a year later, as well as an MA in graphic art in 1990. Among the various fields of art she works in, textile design is one of her favourites, having specialized in textiles at the University of Art and Design Helsinki in Finland. Her graphic works are in the collections of the Albertina in Vienna and the Museum of Modern Art in Paris. For the exhibition Parallel in 2001, she received the Trend Award from the Slovenian Radio and Television in 2002, along with her collaborators in the project. Francesca da Porto, Ph.D. (Arch.) Alenka Mauko Pranjić is employed by the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG) as an expert for researching natural stone and recycled materials. She is currently a coordinator of one domestic research project in the fields of biocorrosion of natural stone (ARRS project L15453 Development of novel bioresistant and stainfree stone surfaces of cultural heritage) and two international projects in the field of recycled materials (LIFE10INDSI138 Promotion of the recycling of industrial waste and building rubble for the construction industry and LIFE12ENVSI443 Nanoremediation of water from small waste water treatment plants and reuse of water and solid remains for local needs). I was born on 2 August 1975 in Novo mesto. After finishing Secondary School of 17 Mechanical Engineering, I continued my studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Ljubljana. After graduating from the post-secondary vocational programme, I enrolled into the higher education programme of Production Engineering. I concluded my studies with a diploma paper to the topic of quality tools. I gathered my first work experiences at the company Novoles in Straža. Later, I worked in R&D Department at TPV d.d. in Novo mesto and then pursued my career as the Head of Quality Department at the company Sun Roller d.o.o. in Črnomelj. Matevž Čelik is an architect, architectural researcher and writer. In 2002 he co-founded Trajekt, Institute for Spatial Culture in Ljubljana. He contributed to Oris magazine in Zagreb and published a book New Architecture in Slovenia in 2007. Since 2010 he runs Museum of Architecture and Design in Ljubljana. Ob študiju, katerega del je opravila v tujini (Universita Ca’ Foscari di Venezia, Institut für Städtebau, Technische Universität Graz), je delala v Mestni galeriji Ljubljana, od leta 2009 pa je bila zaposlena na Umetnostnozgodovinskem inštitutu Franceta Steleta, Znanstvenoraziskovalnem centru Slovenske akademije znanosti in umetnosti (ZRC SAZU). Za svoje delo je prejela več štipendij, mdr. štipendijo Avstrijske vlade ÖAD, ameriško štipendijo Keepers Preservation Education Fund Fellowship ter štipendijo ZRC SAZU. Grajeni dediščini 20. stoletja se v več izvirnih znanstvenih in strokovnih tekstih ter prispevkih na domačih in mednarodnih konferencah posveča od leta 2007, poleg tega je na povabilo organizacije DOCOMOMO Venezuela leta 2013 v Caracasu izvedla predavanje na temo slovenske moderne arhitekture in prejela 2. nagrado na študentskem natečaju za kratki dokumentarni film TR – spomeniškovarstveni manifest v okviru mednarodne konference Dediščina socializma (Maribor 2012, EPK). Tina Potočnik graduated in History of Art from Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana in 2007. She proceeded with her studies and research in History of Art and in 2010 gained master’s degree in Conservation and Museology. In 2013 she completed her doctoral studies at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana. She carried part of her studies abroad (Università Ca’ Foscari di Venezia, Institut für Städtebau, Technische Universität Graz). After working in the City Gallery of Ljubljana, she has been employed since 2009 as an assistant researcher at the France Stele Institute of Art History, Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (UIFS ZRC SAZU). For her work she was awarded several scholarships, among others the ÖAD scholarship awarded by the Austrian government, the American Keepers Preservation Education Fund Fellowship and ZRC SAZU scholarship. Tina Potočnik has been focusing on built heritage of the 20. century since 2007 in several scientific and professional articles and national and international conference contributions. Deluje kot arhitekt v svobodnem poklicu, kot urednik ter publicist v literarnih in filozofskih revijah, vodja kulturnega programa v Hostlu Celica in predavatelj na Arhitekturi Fakultetete za gradbeništvo v Mariboru. Bil je asistent raziskovalec na Fakulteti za arhitekturo v Ljubljani (1988 do 1996) in svetovalec ministra za kulturo (2005 do 2007). Na Arhitekturi – Fakulteta za gradbeništvo na Univerzi v Mariboru od leta 2011/12 predava predmet Razvoj arhitekturne in urbanistične forme. Je pobudnik in arhitekt Hostla Celica, ustvarjalnega procesa preobrazbe vojaških zaporov, ki so ga skupaj z umetniki iz KUD Sestava izvedli v letih od 1993 do 2003. Lonely Planet je Celico leta 2006 razglasil za »the hipest hostel on the world«. Je soavtor projekta in zagovornik poglobitve železnice v Ljubljani (Odprti krog, 2002-2012). Bil je komisar razstave Ljubljana - Benetke na Arhitekturnem bienalu Architecture Beyond Building v Galerija A A v Benetkah (2008). Skupaj s sodelavci iz Odprtega kroga je vodil in sodeloval na številnih arhitekturno urbanističnih delavnicah od Bohinja, Bleda, Gorij, Bovca, Gornje Radgone, Kopra, Maribora do Cetinja in Cambridgea. V letu 2008 je skupaj s sodelavci (Drašler,Ostan, Moll) oblikoval stalno razstavo Narodnega muzeja na Blejskem gradu. Z arhitektom Gašperjem Drašlerjem, s katerim stalno sodeluje od leta 2001,sta avtorja Mladinskega centra in hotela v Ajdovščini, ki so ga odprli leta 2011. V zadnjih letih se jima je v ateljeju pridružil še mlajši kolega Matjaž Suhadolc. V Hiši Raduha v Lučah ob Savinji so preuredili stari kozolec v v sodoben apartma s spoštovanjem do dediščine, tako da se fasade in konstrukcije skoraj niso dotaknili. Za ta projekt so dobili nagrado STO Snovalec leta 2010. V Lučah so v letu 2013 odprli tudi dva apartmaja v stari Štali in notranjo prenovo Hiše Raduha. Je soavtor večnamenske hiše Nova Rinka na glavnem trgu v Solčavi, za katero so skupaj z Urošom Lobnikom, Andrejo Podlipnik - AU arhitekti letih 2012/13 dobili Zlati svinčnik ZAPSa, Plečnikovo medaljo in evropsko nagrado.Constructive Alps. Z arhitektko Metko Černe sta leta 2012 prenovila hotel Jelka na Pokljuki. Eseje in teoretske razprave objavlja v arhitekturnih, filozofskih in literarnih revijah. Je pobudnik in soavtor knjige Sporočila prostora, ki so jo skupaj s kolegi arhitekti in arheologi izdali pri ZRC SAZU 2008. Med drugim je ob tisočletnici prve omembe Blejskega gradu leta 2011 za reprezentančni zbornik Blejski grad – 1000 let napisal pripevek Tisočletni (g)rajski zid. Skozi teoretično in praktično delo, ki temelji na uvidih v prostorske in jezikovne vzorce, povezuje lastno ustvarjalnost z najstarejšimi modrostmi umeščanja v prostor in z najsodobnejšimi umetniškimi, znanstvenimi in filozofskimi uvidi. V skladu z izvirno razvito metodologijo v svojem delu in delovanju povezuje naravo in kulturo v smeri razvoja, ki ni samo 22 trajnosten, temveč zares trajen. Janko Rožič is an architect, urban planner, essayist and cultural worker. He works as an architect in liberal profession and an editor and publicist in literary and philosophical magazines. He is the head of the cultural programme at the Celica Hostel and a lecturer at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Maribor, lecturing architecture. He also worked as a research assistant at the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana (1988 to 1996) and an adviser to the Minister of Culture (2005 to 2007). He has been lecturing the subject “Development of architectural and urban form” at the Architecture study programme of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Maribor, since 2011. He is the initiator and architect of the Celica Hostel, a creative transformation process of military detention facilities that was carried out between 1993 and 2003 in cooperation with artists of the Sestav Cultural and Arts Society. In 2006, Lonely Planet declared Celica as “the hippest hostel in the world”. Rožič is the co-author of the project and an advocate for deepening the railway in Ljubljana (Odprti krog, 2002-2012). He was the exhibition commissioner of Ljubljana – Venice exhibition at the Architecture beyond Building Biennial at A+A Gallery in Venice (2008). Together with his colleagues from Odprti krog (Open Circle), he managed and participated in a number of architectural and urban planning workshops ranging from Bohinj, Bled, Gorje, Bovec, Gornja Radgona, Koper and Maribor to Cetinje (Montenegro) and Cambridge (Great Britain). In 2008, he and his colleagues (Drašler, Ostan and Moll) created a permanent exhibition of the National Museum at the Bled Castle. Janko Rožič and Gašper Drašler, an architect who has been Rožič’s regular associate since 2001, are the authors of a Youth Centre and Hotel in Ajdovščina that opened in 2011. In recent years, a young associate, Matjaž Suhadolc, has joined them in their studio. At the Raduha House in the settlement Luče ob Savinji, they rearranged an old hayrack into a modern suite. They expressed their respect for the heritage by leaving the façade and structural frame as is. This project brought them the Snovalec prize in 2010, which is presented by the Slovenian Tourist Board. In 2013, they opened two small suites in the old Štala (Stable) in Luče and designed the interior of the Raduha House. Rožič is the co-author of the multi-purpose Nova Rinka house on the main square in Solčava, which brought him and his associates, Uroš Lobnik and Andreja Podlipnik of AU arhitekti, the 2012 “Zlati svinčnik” or Golden Pencil Award, which is presented by the Slovenian Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning, the 2013 Plečnik Award and the 2013 Constructive Alps European award. In 2012, architects Metka Černe and Rožič renovated the Jelka Hotel in Pokljuka. Rožič publishes his essays and theoretical debates in architectural, philosophical and literary magazines. He is the initiator and co-author of a book entitled “Sporočila prostora”, which was issued by him and his colleague architects and archaeologists with ZRC Publishing in 2008. Among other things, he also wrote an article entitled “Tisočletni (g)rajski zid” upon the millennium anniversary of the first mention of the Bled Castle for a representative journal entitled “Blejski grad – 1000 let” in 2011. With his theoretical and practical work based on his insights into the spatial and linguistic patterns, he has connected his own creativity with the oldest wisdoms of spatial planning, whereby applying state-ofthe-art artistic, scientific and philosophical insights. Po končani gimnaziji v Celju se je leta 2006 vpisala na Naravoslovnotehniško fakulteto Univerze v Ljubljani, smer grafične in interaktivne komunikacije, kjer je leta 2010 dobila naslov diplomantka grafičnih komunikacij, septembra leta 2012 pa magistrica grafična inženirka. Decembra 2012 se je zaposlila na Zavodu za gradbeništvu kot mlada raziskovalka doktorskega programa Fakultete za kemijo in kemijsko tehnologijo Univerze v Ljubljani. Andreja Pondelak was born in 1985 in Celje, Slovenia. She attended the University of Ljubljana, receiving a master´s degree of Graphic and interactive communication in September 2012. In December 2012 she started working at the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute as a young researcher of doctoral program Faculty of chemistry and chemical technology at the University of Ljubljana. prof. dr. Mitja Guštin, univ.dipl.arheolog /prof.Ph.D. 1987 completed his doctoral dissertation The Soča Region during the La Tène Period in archaeology, 1997 he became ordinarius on University of Ljubljana. In his professional experience he covered different functions: between 1974 and 1985, he was a curator of archaeology at the Posavje Museum in Brežice, then a freelancer, and between 1987 and 1989 the editor in chief of the Scientific Press of the Slovene Academy of Sciences and Arts in Ljubljana. Between 1989 and 1997, he was the Head of the Department of Archaeology and between 1990 and 1992, he was a Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana. Between 1986 and 1990 he was chief editor of Yugoslav archeological editions and 19881990 president of the Commission for Scientific Publications by the Committee on Science of the Republic of Yugoslavia; 1988 and 1992 he was President of Slovenian archaeological association. Nel realizzare queste forme lo scultore ha utilizzato anche le possibilità offerte dall’arte astratta e dall’espressione astratta. Ciò che ci mostra quest’artista, è un tentativo d’integrare (unire) le forme primordiali con le forme moderne. Quindi tutto quello che è stato creato in natura fare che s’interpreta con il linguaggio artistico di quest’epoca. Tuttavia lo scultore non deve dimenticare che con l’imitare le forme crea sensazioni, come se queste forme siano esseri viventi, e con questo ci avvicina alla crudele realtà del processo evolutivo, nel quale tutte le specie animali e piante lottano per la sopravvivenza. Alcune forme fossili della preistoria somigliano agli animali di oggi perciò i sentimenti vengono ancora più fortemente espressi. Naturalmente, lo scultore crea le sue opere d’arte subordinato al desiderio di perfezione, perciò crea forme sofisticate con linee seducenti e giocose, con le quali si combinano colori intensi e attraenti. Da quì deriva il desiderio di perfezione, di ciò che interpreta. Anže certamente dimostra, che uno dei ruoli della scultura moderna è l’interpretazione del mondo visibile e che al tempo stesso l’autore ha tutte le possibilità di avventurarsi nel mondo della fantasia, il quale si sceglie solo e con il quale migliora le sue realizzazioni scultoree. Queste può collegare con interessanti, particolari forme antiche, le quali sono state scoperte nelle roccie sotto forma di fossili, come testimoni diretti di mondi lontani, i quali governavano o esistevano milioni di anni fa. Senz’altro lo scultore cerca la propria identità artistica attraverso linee pure e piene. In questo tempo che offre all’artista un estremamente ampia scelta di temi e quando il pluralismo degli stili consente la parallele integrazione di esperienze di tutta la storia dell’espressione artistica, il giovane scultore sta creando una piattaforma da cui continuerà un passo sicuro verso il futuro. Dopo aver conquistato i fondamentali compiti che uno scultore deve sapere, egli sta già con successo scoprendo ciò che dà senso a lui come ad un’artista e alle sue realizzazioni artistiche. Ko vstopimo v kiparski svet mladega kiparja Anžeta Jurkovška, se pred našimi očmi odpre pogled na forme iz resničnosti in oblike iz pradavnin. Seveda je pri slednjih kot pomagalo mladi ustvarjalec izrabil tudi možnosti, ki jih ponuja abstraktna umetnost in abstraktno izražanje. Tisto, kar nam s svojimi oblikami prikazuje ta ustvarjalec, je namreč poskus integriranja oblik prasveta s sodobnimi, torej vse to, kar sta ustvarili narava in pranarava in preinterpretirati z današnjim likovnim jezikom. Vendarle je pri tem treba posebej izpostaviti, da umetnik s snovanjem vseh teh oblik ustvarja občutke, kot so žive tvorbe, da so del evolucijskega procesa, ki ga pri živih bitjih sproža boj za obstanek. Gre za organske oblike, ki imajo tudi paralele v živalskem in rastlinskem svetu, kakršnega razpoznavamo okrog sebe. Seveda je njegovo kiparsko snovanje podrejeno želji po perfekciji, po izbrušenem videzu teh oblik, ki se ponašajo tudi z zapeljivimi in igrivimi linijami. Zato tudi tako intenzivne in privlačne barvne komponente, zato želja po popolnosti tega, kar obravnava. Anže Jurkovšek vsekakor dokazuje, da je ena izmed vlog sodobnega kiparstva interpretiranje videnega sveta in hkrati, da ima avtor vse možnosti stopiti v svet imaginacije, kakršnega si izbere sam in z njim nadgradi svoje kiparske dosežke. Lahko pa jih, kot je bilo že ugotovljeno, poveže tudi z neskončno zanimivim svetom praoblik, kakršne so raziskovalci odkrili v nedrih našega planeta v obliki okamenin, neposrednih pričevalcev daljnih svetov, ki so vladali ali obstajali pred milijoni let. Vsekakor kipar s svojim pretanjenim odnosom do vendarle čistih, a izrazno polnih oblik, išče svojo lastno umetniško samobitnost. V času, ki likovnikom ponuja skrajno širok nabor tem in ko pluralizem slogov omogoča paralelno združevanje izkušenj vse preteklosti človekovega likovnega izražanja, si mladi kipar ustvarja platformo, s katere bo še v prihodnje trdno stopal naprej. Zaveda se osnovnih kiparskih nalog in že uspešno odkriva tisto, kar osmišlja njega kot ustvarjalca in njegove likovne dosežke. Leta 2009 je na Akademiji za likovno umetnost in oblikovanje v Ljubljani diplomiral iz kiparstva pri prof. Alenu Ožboltu. Deluje na področju abstraktnega in figuralnega kiparstva. Do sedaj je imel več samostojnih in skupinskih razstav. Leta 2004 je prejel nagrado Študentskega festivala ŠTUNF. Od leta 2012 je član DSLU. Je avtor treh javnih plastik v občini Dol pri Ljubljani, kjer tudi živi in ustvarja. Anže Jurkovšek was born on 15 August 1983 in Ljubljana. In 2009, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, majoring in sculpture under the mentorship of Prof. Alen Ožbolt.
