If you live,
work, or do
business here
in the

direction to

strong, active
Chamber of
Commerce
can do many
things that
would be
difficult or
expensive for
individual
businesses to
do alone.

Chamber of Commerce Gift Certificates
The Chamber issues a great number of “Positively Platteville Gift Certificates” in a
year. In 2013 we issued over 1400 Gift Certificates with a value of $40,000
How to Redeem a Chamber Gift Certificate
PLEASE ACCEPT FOR PURCHASES OR SERVICES ONLY AND
TREAT THE CERTIFICATE AS YOU WOULD CASH.
(Example: Customer presents a $50.00 chamber gift certificate as payment for a
$20.00 purchase-you would treat the gift certificate just like a $50.00 dollar bill
and give them $30.00 in cash back. This rule applies for any amount on the gift
certificate or amount spent.) Please do not attempt to “rewrite” the Chamber gift
certificate in any manner.
When you make your deposit (at your financial institution), you will deposit the gift
certificate just as you normally deposit checks and cash.
Please note that these gift certificates expire five years from date of issue.
Please be sure all of your employees are aware of the Chamber gift certificates
and know the procedures for handling them. If you have any questions, call the
Chamber office at 348-8888.
We also encourage you to promote Chamber gift certificates whenever
appropriate or possible. They make wonderful gifts for hard-to-shop people, door
prizes, employee events, etc.
REMEMBER-Chamber gift certificates keep dollars in Platteville!!!!!!

Networking-Making Important Connections
Business after Hours
People like to do
business with
people they
know! Chamber
networking puts
you in touch with
other business
people and
community
leaders.
Each month, community members
attend the Business After Hours
to network and make connections.
Each event offers an opportunity
to get acquainted with other area
business people and community
leaders in the Platteville area. As
a Chamber member you are
continually informed of when and
where these events are taking
place. Also, you have the
opportunity to host this great
networking event and really
showcase your business.
Annual Golf Outing
The Chamber’s annual golf
outing, held in June, provides an
opportunity for Member
businesses to have some fun
while spending quality time
establishing relationships with
other professionals in the
Platteville area. This gives you
an opportunity to interact with
your peers in a more social
setting.
Luncheons
Spend a quality hour of networking
in one of our Member restaurants,
getting to know more about other
Chamber Members, as well as
enjoying an update on a pertinent
topic for your business. A wellattended event, the luncheon
usually averages over 30 people
each time. We sometimes feature
luncheons that involve more of the
community at large.
Ribbon Cuttings and Ground
Breakings
The Chamber is pleased to
coordinate an official Ribbon Cutting
or Ground Breaking ceremonies for a
new, expanding, or relocating
business. Just make a call to the
Chamber to set a date for this event.
This is a great way to bring other
people and community members into
your business to make them aware of
your products and services.
Annual Celebration
This annual banquet, held in the
early part of the year, brings our
members together to celebrate the
successes of our Chamber
businesses, individuals, and
volunteers, while enjoying a funfilled evening with fellow Chamber
Members. Annual awards and
special recognition, as well as a
recap of the previous year, are a
highlight of the event, along with a
fabulous meal and entertainment.
Average attendance exceeds 100
