INTRODUCTION
The aim of this manual is to keep our agents informed of all developments so that
they, in turn, can pass on this information to their clients. If you have any further
questions about any of our programmes, please do not hesitate to contact us.
WHAT’S NEW FOR 2013?
In December 2011, we acquired new owners/partners in Independent Colleges PLC,
one of Dublin’s leading private further education colleges. As part of the wider
Independent News and Media Group, we can now offer our students an enhanced
education experience in a University style setting.
In February 2012, we moved into our new premises at 60-63 Dawson Street, one of
Dublin’s most prestigious addresses and just across the road from Trinity College.
Our new building is bright and spacious with a very central location.

THE CENTRES
Adult Centre Dublin
Our year-round centre is located in the heart of the city centre on Dawson Street
right beside the historical Trinity College and Saint Stephen’s Green and Grafton
Street – the cultural and commercial heart of Dublin. The area is popular with
students and there are many local bars, coffee shops and restaurants offering a wide
range of food and drinks at reasonable prices.

Junior Centre at Sutton Park School – Homestay Accommodation
Our Junior Summer Centre with homestay accommodation is based in Sutton Park
School, an exclusive private school with excellent facilities situated in its own
grounds, fifteen minutes from Dublin Airport. The centre is located on the beautiful
Howth Peninsula on the north side of Dublin Bay, 12km from the city centre and
close to the traditional fishing village of Howth. Accommodation is in a twin room
sharing with a student from a different nationality.

Junior Summer Centre at Deer Park Resort, Dublin – Residential
Accommodation
We are delighted to offer our Summer Residential Programme at Sutton Park School
& the nearby Deer Park Resort located in the grounds of Howth Castle. The
programme combines the benefits of studying in the academic environment of a
private high school with 3-star luxurious accommodation and facilities at Deer Park.
Facilities at Deer Park include Ireland’s largest golf complex, a cookery school, pitch
and putt course, heated indoor swimming pool, steam room & sauna, outdoor tennis
courts & obstacle course and a large function room & TV rooms for evening
activities. The programme offers a full package of mixed-nationality English classes,
full-board accommodation, daily afternoon and evening activities, two half day and

Accommodation
Our Junior Summer Centre with homestay accommodation is based on University

parents themselves and many still have young children and teenagers living at home.

Our Junior Summer Centre with residential accommodation is based on University

rich area of the campus and provides high quality single room accommodation for
our students. Each apartment has a shared fitted kitchen and living area with
individual bathrooms.

1. Cambridge Examination Courses
These courses prepare students for the University of Cambridge Examinations, which
are among the most widely recognised English language examinations in the world.
Student are required to do a pre-entry test before starting the course to ensure they
have the required level of English necessary to sit the exam.

Registering for Exams
IH Dublin is a Cambridge Exam Centre so you will take the exam at the school at the
end of your course. Registration for the exam happens after the student has arrived.
Examination Centre
We are now an Authorised Cambridge Exam Centre so students will now take the
FCE, CAE and CPE exams at our school after their course has finished.

2. IELTS Examination Course
The International English Language Testing System exam is a key examination for
entry to English-speaking universities. The course combines a morning general
English programme with afternoon sessions that focus on exam preparation and
practice.
Registering for the Exam
IELTS exam dates are available monthly in Dublin. Students are responsible for
booking their own IELTS exam in advance of arrival. To book the exam, please visit
www.ieltsdublin.com. The exam centre is located 10 minutes walk from the school.

ENGLISH + INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME
This programme combines an English language course with an unpaid work
placement in an Irish company, in areas such as administration, marketing, tourism
and IT. The focus is on gaining practical work experience in a professional, Englishspeaking work environment.
Application
All applicants must complete the relevant application form. Acceptance onto course
will depend on relevant previous work experience and English language level.
Interviews
Applicants for English + Internship programme will in most cases have an interview
after they arrive in Ireland. Details of employment will be given to successful
applicants approximately 1 week prior to commencement.

Teachers’ Refresher Course (non-native teachers)
This programme is designed for secondary school teachers whose first language is
not English, who wish to refresh their English language skills while at the same time
explore new methodologies and different approaches to teaching a language. This
course is eligible for Comenius funding. The course is designed by our Teacher
Training Department, and consists of lectures, workshops, and communicative
sessions and is ideal for teachers who wish to take home lots of practical ideas and
activities to use with their own students.

CELTA (University of Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
This course is the most recognised initial qualification for teachers of English in the
world. Successful candidates will be able to avail of the International House World
Organisation Recruitment Services, which places teachers in International House
schools worldwide. The course is accredited by University of Cambridge ESOL and
opens doors to English language teaching jobs in quality language schools in Ireland
and around the world.

DELTA COURSE 2013
University of Cambridge part-time DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to
Adults)
IH Dublin is holding a full-time 30-week part-time DELTA preparation course during
the following dates: 8th October 2013 – 29th May 2014. Classes take place Monday
and Wednesday evenings from 14.15 to 17.30pm.
Aims
This award is suitable for those who wish to gain further experience in ELT and to
perhaps work towards a position in academic management or teacher education.

This course helps practising teachers to examine further the principles and practice
of ELT and to apply this learning to their teaching.
Entry requirements
Applicants will normally:




Have a strong academic background
Hold a recognised initial training in ELT
Have a minimum of three years’ full-time experience in teaching English to
adults of a wide range of levels and contexts
Be at least twenty-one years old
Selection procedure: candidates are selected on the basis of the following:





Tutors may also wish to observe a lesson given by the applicant as part of the
selection process
Assessment: there are three components

HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMME
The High School / Academic Year programme consists of a full year, one term or two
terms in an Irish secondary school. The programme is available at a wide variety of
carefully chosen private and state schools in Ireland. The Irish educational system
offers a broad range of academic subjects in science, technology and the arts.
The High School Programme is open to students aged 12 - 18 and our service
includes:













Careful selection of the school
School visit tour for parents if required
Selection of host family for day pupils
Assistance with school uniform and textbooks
Regular reports to parents
Regular visits to the student
Liaison with school and teachers
24 hour emergency contact
Assistance with GNIB documents and Re-Entry Visas
Processing of documents as required for validation
Provision of family accommodation during holidays where required
Arrangement of airport transfers to school or family
Arrangement of return flights if necessary
To start the application procedure for 2013/2014 academic year you should forward
the following documents by post:
1. Completed High School Application form.
2. Two passport type photographs.
3. Last two academic (school) reports from current school.
4. A letter of recommendation (an academic and character reference) from your
School Head or School Director.
5. Level of English. Schools need an accurate indication. A test can be faxed.
Alternatively any recognised certificate or English language test taken in the two
months prior to application will suffice. (This only applies to students who do not
speak English as their first language)

your request.

arrive on the Saturday or Sunday before the course starts from 29th June to 4th
August.

The English Course
Students attend 3 hours of class every morning; two teachers teach each group.
Levels are from Elementary to Advanced – please note that we do not accept
beginners. The Course Director will endeavour to form classes that are well balanced
in terms of age, gender, and nationality. Although all the skills are practised, the
main focus is on communication and the production of language. All course
materials are provided though students are advised to bring a dictionary and writing
materials.
Afternoon Activities
After the lunch break, students take part in afternoon activities, which are
compulsory. Activities are organised and supervised by sports staff, monitors and
group leaders.

One fully supervised disco is held each week at the school and transfers are arranged
to and from the event. IH Dublin if requested can arrange extra evening activities for

We offer one full day excursion per week each Saturday. All excursions are fully
supervised by our staff and all entrance fees are included in the fees.

Accommodation
We offer full board host family accommodation in Sutton, and the coastal suburbs of
north county Dublin. Our families are visited regularly by our Accommodation Officer
and are very dedicated to young student care. Breakfast and evening meals are
provided each day. A packed lunch is provided on Thursday and on Saturdays.
Students have a hot lunch at the school on all other days. All meals are taken with
the family on Sunday. In general, accommodation is in twin rooms shared with
another student of a different nationality.
Laundry and Bed Linen
Bed linen is provided and laundry can be included with the family wash unless
special care is required such as hand washing or dry cleaning, in which case, students
should take care of his or her own laundry.
Pets
The majority of Irish families have at least one pet, usually a cat or dog. Often the
animal lives outside in the garden. Only those students who are afraid of, or allergic
to animals should request a house without pets as, during the peak season in
particular, it can be quite difficult to find a family without animals.
Change of Host Family
Once a student has been placed with a family, the details are sent to the agent
including family profile, address and phone number, names of children, distance to
school / public transport etc. Although we make every effort not to change families
once the details have been sent, there are occasions on which changes are
unavoidable, particularly in the case of illness within the family or a general change
in the family circumstances.
In the case of a student who is unhappy with their family, we will make every effort
to change that student to another family.
Supervision and Welfare
During the school day students may not leave the school premises unless
accompanied by a monitor. Students are expected to return home in time for the
evening meal with the family. Irish families tend to have dinner quite early in the
evening – often between 6 and 7pm. In the summertime, evenings are long and it is
daylight until about 10.30pm. It is quite normal for Irish children to go out after
dinner to meet friends who live locally. Depending on the age of the student, we set
curfew times and students must return home by this time.
Curfew times:


Students aged 11-13 must be home by 9pm.
Students aged 14-15 must be home by 10pm.

 Students aged 16-17 must be home by 10.30pm.
At all times, the student must inform the family as to where he or she will be.
Medical Conditions
Please inform us in advance of your student(s)’ arrival of any medical condition(s)
your student(s) may have or if he/she is bringing medication with them. This includes
conditions such as allergies, bed-wetting and food intolerance.
Pocket Money
Pocket money may be deposited in the school safe and given to the student, as
required. Students are advised not to carry large sums of cash with them at any time
and passports and identity cards should not be taken on outings or excursions.
Your student should bring the following items:

Swimming costume and swimming towel
Rain jacket
Copy book and pen
Small dictionary (not compulsory)
Personal toiletries (i.e. shampoo, shower gel etc.)

Minimum course length is 2 weeks. Courses commence each Monday. Students
should arrive on the Sunday before the course starts.
This Junior Summer Programme includes:

Full evening activities programme
1 full day excursion per week, packed lunch provided
Full board residential accommodation in school
Hot meals provided in the school

Accommodation
We offer full board host family accommodation within Cork city and its suburbs. Our
families are visited regularly by our Accommodation Officer and are very dedicated
to young student care. Breakfast and evening meals are provided each day. A packed
lunch is provided every weekday and on Saturdays. All meals are taken with the
family on Sunday. In general, accommodation is in twin rooms shared with another
student of a different nationality.
Laundry and Bed Linen
Bed linen is provided and laundry can be included with the family wash unless
special care is required such as hand washing or dry cleaning, in which case, students
should take care of his or her own laundry.
Pets
The majority of Irish families have at least one pet, usually a cat or dog. Often the
animal lives outside in the garden. Only those students who are afraid of, or allergic
to animals should request a house without pets as, during the peak season in
particular, it can be quite difficult to find a family without animals.
Change of Host Family
Once a student has been placed with a family, the details are sent to the agent
including family profile, address and phone number, names of children, distance to
school / public transport etc. Although we make every effort not to change families
once the details have been sent, there are occasions on which changes are
unavoidable, particularly in the case of illness within the family or a general change
in the family circumstances.
In the case of a student who is unhappy with their family, we will make every effort
to change that student to another family.

Supervision and Welfare
During the school day students may not leave the school premises unless
accompanied by a monitor. Students are expected to return home in time for the
evening meal with the family. Irish families tend to have dinner quite early in the
evening – often between 6 and 7pm. In the summertime, evenings are long and it is
daylight until about 10.30pm. It is quite normal for Irish children to go out after
dinner to meet friends who live locally. Depending on the age of the student, we set
curfew times and students must return home by this time.
Curfew times:

Students aged 11-13 must be home by 9pm.
Students aged 14-15 must be home by 10pm.
Students aged 16-17 must be home by 10.30pm.
At all times, the student must inform the family as to where he or she will be.

Executive English
We cater for both individuals and small groups who have a limited time to focus on
their language needs. We have state of the art facilities and fully-CELTA trained staff
with a strong business teaching background who can identify and address students’

The central focus of our courses is active communication. We aim to improve

Distance Telephone Training

This course is aimed at people in Dublin or abroad who need to work on their
telephone skills. It is highly suitable for clients who have important calls and
information to discuss either on an on-going basis or as a one-off. It is also suitable
for those executives who don’t want to be tied to a schedule but need to practice
their listening / speaking skills on the telephone and who do not get the opportunity
in their working lives to deal with native speakers. The course is conducted over the
telephone and initially booked by the client in advance. As it is individual, clients can
select modules they most need. Worksheets can be sent via email and worked on
with a personal language trainer. This course allows clients to focus on any one of
the following modules.

GROUP PROGRAMMES
Groups usually consist of 15 or more students accompanied by 1 group leader per 15
students. We offer free accommodation for 1 group leader per 15 students and
airport transfers are free for groups of 15 or more students. We assign a Group
Coordinator to each group who will meet with the group leaders regularly to help
the group settle in and resolved any issues that should arise.
Group Leaders
Group leaders should be over 20 years of age and should have a good working
knowledge of the English language. Leaders are expected to assist teachers and
monitors in ensuring that students are punctual and attentive in class. They should
be prepared to become involved in afternoon activities and to assist in the
supervision of weekend excursions and evening outings. Regular meetings are held
with the Course Director to discuss the week’s events and to deal with any problems
that may arise. Should a student require medical attention in a doctor’s surgery or
hospital, the group leader will escort the student.

THE FIRST DAY – ADULT CENTRE
On the first day, adult students should arrive at the location stated on their

Placement Test
All students take a written placement test that takes approximately one hour to
complete. Each student is evaluated by the Director of Studies to gain an accurate
measure of his or her language abilities, including oral ability. Students are then
placed in a class appropriate to their level of English. Class places are assigned based
on the level achieved in the Placement Test.
Students’ Welcome Pack
At the beginning of each course students are presented with a welcome pack, which
contains a students’ manual, tourist map of the city centre, and student card. The
students’ manual provides an introduction to the school as well as information about
restaurants and bars in the local area, local transport, nightlife, shopping and tourist
attractions in Ireland.
Students’ Card
A student card is presented to each new student on the first day of his or her course.
It contains information about the student’s name, host family address and phone
number (if relevant), course dates and emergency phone number. It is therefore
important that students carry their student card at all times.
Orientation Tour
All new students are taken on an orientation tour of Dublin on the first afternoon of
their course. The tour offers an opportunity to get to know the practicalities of life in
a new city, such as famous landmarks, public transport, discount travel, currency
exchange etc. Students are also taken to the bus station to buy their student bus
pass and are then shown the bus stop where they can take the bus home.

THE TEACHERS
The quality of our teaching is guaranteed by the fact that our teachers are fully
qualified, native English speakers who have been carefully selected to match the
high standards we set ourselves. Our teachers, who are supported by our Academic
Team, use a wide range of modern approaches and techniques to meet our students’
individual needs and aims. Like all International House schools, we are committed to
delivering quality instruction in the classroom and to fostering a high degree of
academic professionalism.
METHODOLOGY
The main objective of our English courses is to improve the students’ communicative
skills. The emphasis of classroom activities is therefore the development of the
students’ abilities to speak and understand spoken English. For this reason, classes
are conducted entirely in English and students are given plenty of opportunity to
practise their spoken English.
Due attention is also paid to grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing skills, and a
wide variety of materials is used.
Students who attend individual classes will have a course designed specifically to
meet their particular needs.
The teaching and the course programme are carefully supervised by the Director of
Studies who is also responsible for ensuring that students are placed in the
appropriate level and that their progress is satisfactory.
While the atmosphere is the classroom is generally relaxed and informal, students
should be prepared to work hard and participate fully.
TESTS AND CERTIFICATES
Placement Test
All students take a written placement test on the first day that takes approximately
one hour to complete. Each student is evaluated by a member of our senior teaching
staff to gain an accurate measure of his or her language abilities, including oral
ability. Students are then placed in a class appropriate to their level of English. Class
places are assigned based on the level achieved in the Placement Test.
End of Course Certificate
On completion of the course, students receive an End of Course Certificate, with the
course title, date of attendance and level achieved.

SOCIAL PROGRAMME FOR ADULT COURSES
IH Dublin organises a varied programme of social activities for our students. The
Social Programme comprises of visits to historical and cultural attractions, as well as
evenings of music, dance, cinema and drama. Entrance is free to many of the
attractions, but there is an entrance charge to some attractions, prices vary but the
average is €4.
We have a Social Programme Coordinator who organised all the activities and is

ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS FOR ADULTS
IH Dublin can arrange accommodation for our adult students in one of the following
options:


Homestay
Residence / Self-catering apartment
Homestay
Homestay accommodation is available throughout the year. Families may be
‘traditional’ families with children, young couples with no children, single-parent
families, and retired couples whose children have left home. Students can state if
they have a preference. All host families are carefully selected and visited by our
Accommodation Office and agree to the following conditions for our students:







To provide students with single rooms (unless a twin or double room has been
requested by 2 people booking together)
Not to accommodate persons of the same nationality unless specifically
requested by the students concerned
To provide basic laundry facilities and to change bed linen regularly
To make a daily bath or shower available
To provide an adequate continental breakfast and substantial dinner at night
or breakfast only when booked
To provide students with a door key so that they can let themselves in and out
To treat students as family guests and generally behave in a friendly and
hospitable manner
Arrival and Departure Days: Homestay accommodation is normally provided from
the Saturday or Sunday before the course begins until the Saturday or Sunday after
the course ends. Extra nights are usually available on request on payment of a
supplement. If it is not possible to arrange transport to Dublin to arrive on and leave
on Saturday or Sunday, please contact us to check that alternative arrangements can
be made.
Location and Houses: Irish families always live outside the city centre in houses with
gardens in the suburbs of Dublin. The majority of our families live in residential areas
on both the north and south sides of the city.
All students come to school each day on public transport. During the school holidays
(July / August), traffic is lighter and students can expect the journey to take
approximately 30 – 40 minutes. Traffic is heavier during term time and the journey
can take between 30 and 50 minutes. Please note that family accommodation is not
available in the city centre.

Meals: Accommodation is half board Monday to Friday and full board at weekends
basis or bed and breakfast. If the student is a vegetarian or needs to follow a special
diet, please give details on the application form and we will do our best to find a
family that can provide the special requirements.
Laundry and Bed Linen: Bed linen is provided but students should bring their own
towels. Laundry can be included with the family wash unless special care is required
such as hand washing or dry cleaning, in which case, a student should take care of
his or her own laundry.
Smoking: In most homes, smoking is not permitted, or is permitted only in certain
areas of the house. A student who specifically requires a smoking or non-smoking
house should make their request clear on the application form.
Pets: The majority of Irish families have at least one pet, usually a cat or dog. Often
the animal lives outside in the garden. Only those students who are afraid of, or
allergic to animals should request a house without pets as, during the peak season in
particular, it can be quite difficult to find a family without animals.
Change of Family: Once a student has been placed with a family, the details are sent
to the agent, including family profile, address and phone number, names of children,
distance to school / public transport etc. Although we make every effort not to
change families once the details have been sent, there are occasions on which
changes are unavoidable, particularly in the case of illness within the family or a
general change in the family circumstances.
In the case of a student who is unhappy with their family, we will make every effort
to change that student to another family.
Self-catering Studio Apartments – Charleston Road
We offer year-round self-catering apartment accommodation Ranelagh, just south of
the city centre. The apartments are only 7 minutes by tram or 30 minutes walking to
the school in the city centre. The development includes a mix of single, twin and
double occupancy apartments, all with their own private bathroom, kitchen and
living area.
Bed Linen/Towels: Bed linen and towels are provided and changed every week
Cleaning: There is a light cleaning service once per week. Students are also
responsible for keeping their own room and apartment clean and tidy.
Internet / TV / Phone : There is free wi-fi internet access in the apartments. Each
living area is supplied with a TV for students’ use. There is a pay phone in the
communal entrance hall.

Laundry: There is a laundry room located in the apartment complex where students
can use washing machines and tumble driers free of charge.
Arrival Day / Check-in: Students can arrive to our apartments on Sundays only
anytime after 12.00 noon. Students are asked to provide us with their approximate
time of arrival in advance.
Key Deposit: All students must provide credit card details on arrival and in the event
that the key is lost and not returned, a payment of €50 is taken from the credit card.
Shared Self-catering Apartments – Archway Court
Located on the North side of the City Centre in a superb development of high quality
student accommodation located just ten minutes’ walk from the main shopping
areas of Henry Street and O’Connell Street. Students can walk to school in
approximately 25 minutes or take a bus which takes about 10-15 minutes. The
apartments are very spacious and are furnished and fitted to a high standard.
Apartments consist of 4 or 6 single bedrooms, a common living area with TV and
fully equipped kitchen. Each apartment has 2 shared bathrooms.
Description:





The apartments contain 4 – 5 single bedrooms.
Most bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. However, this will be confirmed at
time of booking.
Each bedroom within an apartment is equipped with a single bed, a bed-side
shelf, one wardrobe, one desk, a chair, a desk lamp, a waste paper bin and
blackout blinds. The rooms are fully carpeted.
The combined living and kitchen area in each apartment is provided with a TV,
electric oven, electric ceramic hob, microwave, fridge / freezer, storage
cupboards, electric kettle and toaster. Utensils, cutlery and crockery are
included.
Stereos are not provided. If required, students can supply their own.
While we don’t organise hotel and hostel accommodation for individual students, if
you would like to receive a list of hotels / B&Bs located close to the school, please
contact us.

ARRIVING IN DUBLIN
Dublin Airport is situated on the north side of Dublin, 9 kilometres from the city
centre. Students arriving at Dublin Airport can either avail of our Airport Transfer
service, take a taxi to their destination or alternatively take the airport buses or
public buses to the city centre.

Airport Transfer
Private airport transfer can be arranged by the school on arrival only for an
additional charge of €75 to the homestay accommodation and is available daily
between 08.00 and 22.00. On arrival, the student will be met at the Meeting Point in
the Arrivals Hall. A driver will be there, holding a sign with the student’s name. The
student will be taken directly to their accommodation. Please inform the student
that he/she should contact the emergency phone number (+353 (0) 86 8225543) if
there is any difficulty on arrival. It is possible to arrange a transfer outside these
hours, in which case an extra supplement of €30 is payable.
Please note that we need the arrival flight details at least 3 days before arrival.
Taxi
There is a taxi rank outside the Arrivals building. The cost of a taxi from the airport to
the homestay is approximately €25 to €45 depending on which part of the city you
are travelling to.
Airport Buses
The Aircoach departs from outside the Arrivals Hall every 15 minutes to the city
centre and costs approximately €6 per person. It stops at Trinity College Dublin, St.
Stephen’s Green, Burlington Hotel, Bewleys in Ballsbridge, Ailesbury Road,
Donnybrook, Leeson Street, and finally back to airport. Once you arrive in the city
centre it is advisable to get a taxi to your destination from here.
The 747 AirLink Service departs from outside the Arrivals Hall regularly and runs
from Monday to Saturday 05.45 to 00.00 and 7.15 to 00.00 on Sundays from Dublin
Airport to O’Connell Street in the city centre.
Public Buses
16,41 and 102 city buses also run from the airport to the city centre approximately
every 20 minutes from 06.00 to 23.10 Monday to Sunday.

Dublin Bus (www.dublinbus.ie) provides an extensive network of bus routes
throughout Dublin. A weekly “Rambler” ticket costs €23 and provides unlimited
travel for seven consecutive days for one adult on all Dublin Bus services.
Tram
The Dublin Luas (www.luas.ie) tram system is a state-of-the-art Light Rail Transit
system. Ticket prices vary in relation to your destination.
Train
The DART (www.irishrail.ie/dart) train system operates one line along Dublin’s coast
from Howth to Dun Laoighaire. A combined weekly bus + DART ticket costs
approximately €28.
BOOKING PROCEDURE








Bookings can be made by completing an IH application form and returning to
us by: E-mail to enrol@ihdublin.com.
The school will confirm receipt of the enrolment within 24 hours.
A confirmation and net and gross invoices will be sent by e-mail.
The agent should send the net fee to the school 4 weeks before the course
start date.
Payment should be paid in full in advance of the student’s arrival.
Arrival information, including homestay details will be sent to the agent when
payment is received and/or before the course start date.
The agent should pay all bank charges.
Please note that all payments should be made in Euros.

IH Dublin payment policy is that fees should be paid to IH Dublin before a course
commences. These may be paid either by bank transfer or credit card. Agents may
ask the student to pay the school directly, however the student must ensure that
proof of payment is presented to the school on the first day. In this case any

COMMISSION
We offer our agents the following commission rates:
1. English Courses for Adults
Commission is payable on tuition fees, registration fees and work placement fees as
follows:
a. Base Rate
– 20%
b. Level 1 Rate – 20% + 5%
(for the first 10 students)
(for the 11th – 20th students)
c. Level 2 Rate – 20% + 10% (for the 21st – 30th students)
d. Level 3 Rate – 20% + 12% (for the 31st student onwards)
Commission rates for 2013 will take effect from the 1st January 2013 for all new
enrolments. This rolling commission rate applies only to brochure prices and not to
special deals.
2. High School Programme
We provide all our agents with net prices and we recommend a charge of €1,850 for
commission.
3. Junior Summer Programmes
Commission on Junior Summer Programme packages (including accommodation) is
20%.
4. Group Programmes
We quote net prices for our group programmes. Agents can in turn quote gross fees
at their discretion (we recommend that you add 20% to our net prices).
Please note that, while International House Dublin will make every effort to deliver
the programmes as described in the brochure, the school reserves the right to
make changes to individual programmes as necessitated by exceptional
circumstances.
