Introduction
This innovative formwork system is the result
of Interfama's technical research in order to respond to
the needs of the modern construction site, where every day
we are faced with the need to mediate between reduced execution
times, labour costs and high safety standards
that are ever more restrictive.
The installation of the temporary works necessary
for concrete casting provides, in compliance with the
European Directives concerning Safety, for the obligation
to proceed to the 'scheduling of work'.
This means planning work sequences 'in cycles',
through a careful analysis of the work to be performed.
This is the only way you can always operate
under conditions of absolute safety.
The instructions contained in this Manual
concern the technical description of the various work phases
for a correct use of the Velox system.
In order to verify the compliance and the safety requirements of the
Velox system, all the components
that compose it have been subjected by Interfama
to simulations, laboratory tests, calculation reports
and then have been certified in accordance with the criteria set
by the legislation in force.
The data given in this catalogue are extracted from the
documentation arising from the certifications of the
components. The full documentation is available
at our office and available upon request,
by the competent authorities.
Interfama reserves the right to make any
technical changes to the contents of this manual.

VELOX, "UNIVERSAL" SLAB FORMWORK SYSTEM
VELOX is a "Universal" salb formwork system for floors. It is universal in that it allows for formwork with any type
of slab, whether traditional (concrete and masonry, Bausta type), slab (predalle type), full casting in situ (monolithic) or lightweight.
Mixed floor, concrete and
masonry
Floor slab (predalle type)
QUICK
VELOX halves the formwork times, it
can be assembled and disassembled
easily and safely even by just 2
persons thanks to its convenient use,
both in the assembly phase and in
the subsequent stripping. Thanks to
the mechanization of operations,
specialised skilled labour is not
required.
4
Full beton floor
SAFE
All operations are performed
from below until the safety of the
structure is ensured, thanks to the
fall protection grid. It is thus possible
to work within the highest standards
of safety, as required by current
regulations, protecting the operator
against the risk of falling.
Lightweight full floor casting
FLEXIBLE
The system adapts to any type of
surface, even in the presence of
obstacles (walls, pillars, stairwells,
etc.)., or confined areas; it allows
you to obtain maximum coverage
with just a few simple accessories.
It allows you to minimize the times for
realising the formwork of the areas
of compensation.
VELOX manual
ECONOMICAL
The system is equipped with a
"drop head" device, which, after
just 2-5 days, allows for partial
early stripping, thus allowing for the
recovery of the horizontal elements
that make up the formwork and
allowing their immediate reuse.
PRACTICAL
VELOX facilitates the transport, onsite handling and storage due to the
reduced size of its components. Each
component is made
of galvanized
steel or aluminium; it must therefore
be able to withstand infinite use,
eliminating waste due to the use of
materials subject to wear.
Work safely!
5
VELOX, ONE SYSTEM TWO VERSIONS
VELOX has been designed in two variants of use, ECO or STANDARD. In both versions, the system can be
mounted easily and safely by only 2 operators.
STANDARD VERSION
The horizontal plane of the STANDARD version, consisting of modules formed with Main beams, is completed
by inserting aluminium safety grids from the bottom. The use of these grids allows the operator to perform the
installation of the covering panels from the top floor, in complete safety, without the use of lifelines or other PPE,
as prescribed by the legislation in force.
The safety grid with anti-slip surface, made of special aluminium profiles, weighs only 10 kg.

ECO VERSION
The horizontal plane of the ECO version, consisting of modules formed with Main beams, is completed by the
inclusion of laminated wood beams. The beams are inserted from the bottom at an (adjustable) distance of 50 cm
from each other and allow the support and attachment of the covering panels.
This type of version makes the system practical and economical, minimising its volume during transport and storage.

appropriate hooks to be fixed to the
props. In this way it is possible to climb
up to lay out the formwork (panels or
liners) without the use of lifelines.
7

4
To stabilize the propping system
in the initial stage you can use
an "accessory for wall fixing."
4
Alternatively, in the absence of
supports you can use the handy
"tripod"...
4
or the "current spacer bar" for
bracing the lattices.
5
once the first props are
stabilized, we can start to
connect
the
load-bearing
profiles to the drop head.
6
By hooking the ends of the
profile to the 4 seats on the
sides of the drop head and
snapping them in.
7
Also from the floor below, insert
the 2 fall protection grids for
each lattice.
8
Alternately, insert the 3 laminated
beams, making sure they are
perfectly perpendicular to the
load-bearing profile of 200 cm
and spaced 50 cm apart.
9
In the case where grids are used,
in any one of the interstices it
is possible to insert a wooden
beam, which will allow you to
attach the panels later.
10
Level the structure using laser instrumentation supporting the rod
in reverse (with receiver) to the
load-bearing profiles.
9
VELOX SYSTEM CAPACITY
The capacity of the Velox system is determined by the capacity of the props that are used. The system
provides for the possibility of fitting just one prop every 3 m² up to 900 Kg/m² (casting thickness 30 cm).
It is possible to load greater weights with the simple addition of the cross-piece prop in the housing provided
under the profile of 200 cm (see Fig. 2).
1
Standard configuration
Load area on the prop = 3 m²
The system, in its standard configuration, is provided with
propsE35(high capacity) in compliance with European standard
EN1065. The permissible load in this configuration is 9 kN/m²,
equal to a full floor cast in situ of 30cm + 1.5 kN/m² live load.

VELOX, MODELS IN TWO DIRECTIONS
Direction of lattices
In the initial formwork phase we are faced with a choice, i.e. how to orient the lattices
200 x 150 cm. The best solution, from analysing the design of the floor, is to check for the presence of obstacles
(e.g. walls and pillars) and make sure to include as many of them as possible within the lattices themselves, so
that they are not a hindrance in the formation of the main structure. FORMWORK SOLUTIONS IN THE PRESENCE OF OBSTACLES
Assuming that you can not "avoid" all obstacles and one or more of these obstacles may get in the way of the
laying line for theload-bearing profiles, there are several solutions:
1
In case the number of obstacles in the way is high, you can try to change the orientation of the lattices, from
horizontal to vertical or vice versa (as suggested above).
At this point, where it is not possible to place the safety grid, simply insert one or more wooden beams to compensate for any holes.

FORMWORK SOLUTIONS IN THE PRESENCE OF OBSTACLES
2
If turning the latices does not help, you can change the mesh at one or more points in a row of lattices, reducing it
from 200 x 150 to 150 x 150 cm, and once the obstacles have been overcome, start forming next line of lattices
of standard size 200 x 150 cm.
150
200

3
When the obstacle does not allow you to position the load-bearing profile (150 cm): continue with the formation of
the formwork on the sides of the obstacle until overcoming it, a "universal connection accessory" will be inserted for
each lateral load-bearing profile. The accessory is blocked using the screw below and a wooden beam is inserted
(150 cm). This way the binding of the lattice can be re-created. 200

VELOX, MODULARITY
The system allows for the maximum coverage even in the tightest spaces thanks to the highly modular design that
can be obtained with the three beams of 100 / 150 / 200 cm.

VELOX - COMPENSATION AND BORDER AREAS
When, once the optimal laying of the lattices has been planned, the marginal edge areas remain uncovered, it
is sufficient to create a support platform and cover the hole through the panel. Likewise, to cover any zones of
limited surface area, a table is simply fixed to the wall to give support to the covering panel.
15
SECONDARY COMPONENTS
Sliding support
If you need to "disconnect"
the lattices forming areas of
separate formwork, the support
allows you to connect them
together in order to stabilize
them
Shuttering edge and safety railing
This practical accessory can
be placed at any point on
the load-bearing beam and
allows for the attachment of
the panels used for shuttering
perimeter. It allows the insertion
of the supplied beams and is
equipped with safety railing.
Alternative - traditional railing
As an alternative to using our
shuttering edge accessory
with railing, you can use the
standard railings (with screw)
attached to the external profile
of the last lattice.
If the scaffold is mounted a
landing plane can be provided
at the level of the floor.

17
LOWERED BEAMS
To create the formwork of a lowered beam we have three solutions:
1°
2°
3°
18
For lowering up to max. 12 cm
the solution is to interrupt
the formation of lattices in
correspondence of the beam,
create a "pocket" of one lattice to
another using the sliding support.
For lowering more than 12 cm you
can use the specific "accessory for
the lowered beam" that allows for the
creation of beams of up to 50 cm.
The formation of the lattices is
interrupted in the vicinity of the
beam, the support is created with
a row of lowered lattices, and the
formwork is started again. The
same operation can be performed
in the traditional way.

CHOOSE THE FINISH - TYPES OF COVERING PANEL
Type of panel:
the evaluation of the type of panel to be used varies depending on the type of the slab and the degree of
finishing required; also in this case the solutions are different. It goes without saying that the evaluation
becomes more important in the case of monolithic slab (full casting).
3-layer panel
Formwork with 3-layer panel:
clearly the best compromise. Its main advantage is that it allows a large number of uses, on average 20-30, after
which it can still be used for other work (foundations, underpinning etc.) and does not require large investments.
The "wood effect" imprint on the concrete is also pleasant visually. If high quality (3 layers treated) it is lightweight and robust
on loads.
Multi-layer panel with PP (polypropylene) surfaces:
on both sides. Particularly suitable for those requiring numerous uses. It allows an average of 120-150 uses. Thesmooth surface ensures a visually smooth impression on the concrete. The PP coating can bear numerous nails without damaging the coat. The thickness of 27 mm allows for it to be combined with the yellow panel for the cutting on marginal areas.

Panel VSD-35:
Panel VSD-35 as
disposable formwork
this type of panel ensures a maximum of 3 - 4 castings at a very low cost and a very special finish.
Definitely the most cost-effective.
this is a disposable formwork. It is laid out in place of the
panels and is cast in the same way. It offers great benefits
including sound insulation, thermal insulation, fire resistance,
a surface that provides optimal support to the plaster, and
workability equal to that of wood (e.g. it allows you to create or
move the light points over time). Available in various sizes, data
sheets upon request.
The panel VSD-35 gives the slab the values representing the set of requirements established by
the European Standard (high acoustic insulation and fire resistance).
"EN 13168" Certification 1020 - Dec. 2005 (data sheet upon request).
20
VELOX manual
LAYING THE PANELS
Full casting:
simple, fast and safe operation, thanks to the fall protection safety grids. There is no obligation regarding the
direction of the panels, however we recommend, in the event of early stripping, to lay them out so as to recover
as many as possible.
Concrete and masonry and predalle type:
Once the structure and edge offsets are mounted, first the beams are formworked (according to thickness or
lowered). Once the formwork of the beams is completed, it will be necessary to lay a row of panels, each 150
cm above all the profiles of 200 cm in such a way as to cover all the props. This creates uniform support for the
slab, and a load distribution, thus avoiding the "punching" effect that would be generated with the direct contact
of the drop head with a lightweight floor. At this point it is possible 2-5 days after the casting
carry out the early partial stripping.

STRIPPING IN GENERAL
Generally it is possible only 2-5 days after the casting.
It is recommended to consult Works Management for
a further verification of the stripping times. Also see the
documentation on stripping.
Operations:
with a hammer blow rotate the tab of the drop head until returning it to its original position.
In this way (after acting on all the drop heads) all the
components that make up the horizontal plane (grids,
load-bearing profiles, wooden beams and 80% of the
panels), will descend 12 cm, sufficient space to be
removed and thus be immediately reusable.
Only the props with the drop heads remain fitted, and
20% of the panels, partially supporting the floor for the
time necessary for its maturation.
Possibility of advancement:
in this way it is possible to formwork, for example, a
slab of 600 m² with only 300 m² of the VELOX system,
23
NOTES ON THE STRIPPING OF REINFORCED CONCRETE FLOORS CAST IN SITU,
CONCRETE AND MASONRY
The VELOX system is available with
with two configurations of props:
the first, which involves the use of
props with high resistance (30.0
kN) is the one that lends itself to the
widest variety of applications. For
mixed floors with low weights (in the
order of 4.0 kN/m²) low-capacity
props can also be used equal to
6.0 kN, as illustrated in the figures
on the following pages.
Mixed floors with weight
of 4.00 kN/m2
In the system with props of
6.0 kN the central elements
are previously moved so as to
enable the disassembly of the
other horizontal elements.
Where props of 6.0 kN are used the
standard gridof 1.5 x 2.0 meters is
supported by a total of six props: at
the 4 vertices of the cell and at the
centre line of the long side. During
removal of the formwork the props
placed centrally must be moved to
allow the movement of the beam.
Next, proceed to the positioning of
the additional props, ensuring that
the head of the prop remains on the
panel which will NOT be removed,

VELOX manual
However, in in the case where the
use of high capacity props (30.0
kN) is provided for, these will
be placed only at the top of the
cell, and therefore no preventive
operation will be necessary.
As shown in figure 3, if it
is a mixed floor it is necessary
to place props of 6.0 kN
at the centreline of the tables for
the distribution of loads during
partial stripping.

In the case of props with high capacity (30.0 kN), the grid of 1.5 x 2.0 meters remains unchanged, only
the tables for the distribution of loads and props remain in situ. In the case on the left (full floors) four
corner props are sufficient, while in the case on the right (mixed floors) a workmanlike execution involves
the insertion of props of 6.0 kN on the centre line of the tables for the distribution of loads, with the
function of a crosspiece.
Fields of use:
the VELOX INTERFAMA formwork system can be applied both for full floors and with lightweight floors, in all
cases where, alongside a high quality of surface finish, it is necessary to optimize the execution times.

Mixed/predalle type slab:
also in this case, thanks to the fall protection safety grids the operation of the floor panels is quick, easy and safe.
Unlike the full slab, it will be sufficient to use formwork with panels or tables with only the full beams. While in
the areas of support of the beams or slabs, it will be sufficient to shim from time to time with tables or panels to
maintain the same surface height (also see page 21 early stripping in general).
