Transmission
The power from the engine is transferred to the gearbox by a variator.
The gearbox has 4 gears plus a speed lever with 3 settings, low, medium and high.
These work both forwards and backwards.
The direction is determined by the forwards/backwards lever.
The gearbox is equipped with a differential that can be locked as required.
The power is transferred from the gearbox to the trailer drive rollers via the drive shaft.
The drive of the trailer can be disconnected as required (e.g. during transport).
With this system, the machine is either 2- or 6-wheel drive.
The trailer wheel automatically presses against the drive rollers when braking.
For release, see Machine Controls.
When disconnecting the trailer’s power, the braking ability is reduced.

Brakes
The machine is equipped with a driving, service and parking brake.
The tractor’s brakes are activated mechanically via the brake controls.
The trailer’s brakes are activated hydraulically.
Both systems are activated parallel to each other and are controlled by the machine’s
brake controls.
The trailer’s service brake is also activated when the machine is in work mode.
In addition to the brake circuit is an accumulator, connected to ensure brake operation
in case of machine stop - the ‘panic brake’. When the machine is started, a function in
the hydraulic system must be used in order to charge the brake circuit until the
machine remains securely braked.
Immediately stop the machine and activate the parking brake if the brake
pressure light comes on or in case of operational disruption to the
machine. Resolve any faults before continuing.
Always activate the parking brake before exiting the machine.

Centre lock
Stabilising cylinders are fitted to compensate for tilting of the trailer.
This function is activated when the machine is in work mode, see Machine Modes.
When the machine is put into work mode, the centre lock is activated and the machine
becomes less stable.
In order to avoid the trailer tipping, always place the grip on the trailer
before activating work mode.

5.10 Machine Modes
The machine has two different modes: operating mode and work mode; see 5.11
Machine Controls. When selecting a mode, other machine functions are activated.
Work mode:
When work mode is selected, the variator segment is released, the trailer’s parking
brake and centre lock are activated. This means that the machine stays still and the
driver can choose the RPM during loading and unloading.
Operating mode:
When operating mode is selected, the variator segment is activated, the trailer’s
parking brake and centre lock are deactivated. The machine can now be driven
forwards/backwards.

6.11 Off-Road Driving
Never drive faster than feels comfortable. This spares the driver, the machine and the
environment.
When driving over hilly terrain, transport and loading should be done directly up or
down in order to reduce the risk of tipping.
6.12 Crane Operation




Try to attain the right load distribution on the trailer.
If the centre of gravity is too far forwards, the machine will become front-heavy and
the trailer will tip more easily.
If the centre of gravity is too far back, the pulling power is reduced.
Manoeuvre the crane with gentle movements. Correct usage will considerably
extend the lifespan of the base machine, the crane, the hydraulics and the trailer.
Extra care should be taken when driving near to power lines. The crane
should always be at least 6 metres from the power lines.
With light loads on the trailer or if the trailer feels inclined to tip, the centre
lock should be activated by putting the machine in Work mode, see 5.11
Machine Controls.

caterpillar tracks or chains fitted if there is a risk of damage to the road
surface.
7.2
Transporting on a Dolly Trailer
When transporting a machine on a dolly trailer, where the machine’s trailer wheels are
in the opposite direction to the road, the drive wheel-dependent power outlet and drive
rollers must be disconnected in order to prevent damage to the machine!
The machine’s control cylinders are put into the transporting position so that the
machine’s centre section can be moved.
Ensure that the machine is correctly fastened!
Disconnect the trailer power. See "Machine Controls”.


Disconnect the drive rollers. See "Machine Controls”.
Put the machine’s control cylinders into the transporting position by opening the
valve in the section on the small valve unit.
