EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
You can expect a warm welcome
from our highly dedicated staff and
enjoy an extraordinary visit every
time. We congratulate staff members
Menbere Degfaw and Nicholas Pasco
on their commitment to excellence.
MENBERE “MEMBI”
DEGFAW
Menbere, more commonly known
as Membi was recognized as
the Employee of the Month for
May. Membi has worked at
The Center Club since December
2011 as a server. She enjoys trying
new things and has developed a
reputation for her cappuccinos.
Originally from Ethiopia, Membi has traveled all over the world
and lived in Indonesia for five years before moving to the
U.S. four years ago. “I appreciate being different and when
members ask me where I am from—it’s always nice when
people recognize the uniqueness of Ethiopians.” She loves
living downtown and enjoys walking all over Baltimore.
Her favorite neighborhoods include Little Italy and Harbor
East. “My co-workers are my best friends and family—I like
to take everything lightly and with a smile. I really enjoy
working here.”
NICHOLAS PASCO
In June, Nicholas Pasco was
recognized as Employee of
the Month. Since last October,
Nick has been working in
the kitchen as a sous-chef.
He is a graduate of the culinary
arts program of the Baltimore
International College and enjoys
working with Chef Bannan and
the rest of the staff in the kitchen.
Nick’s favorite thing about cooking
is being able to be creative and try new things. He gets his
inspiration from what is in season, making summer his favorite
season because of all the fresh and local ingredients.
Nick was born and raised in Baltimore County and currently
lives there with his wife and two children. When he is not
cooking at the Club, he is cooking breakfast for his 4 year-old
daughter and 3-year old son who always request his chocolate
chip pancakes. He also enjoys going to the movies, especially
super-hero movies. Nick’s favorite dish to eat is classic
spaghetti and meatballs.
