JOB TITLE: PROJECT COORDINATOR, PROMO JEUNE BASKET DRC

Reports to the Board of PJB
The Project coordinator is a full time
position located in the PJB office in
Goma, DRC. The Project Coordinator
will join the team in the DRC, and focus
on coordinating the implementation of the
5 years Strategic Plan as well as
supporting the management of ongoing
grants.

TASKS:
-­‐ Implement PJB’s 5years strategic plan
-­‐ Manage grants (Coordinate existing grants; identify new funding opportunities; write grants)
-­‐ Organize programs and education-related activities
-­‐ Monitor and manage existing projects: E.G. Supervise the implementation of basketball
program (schedule, ensuring coaches provide practices and prepare their coaching session);
Conduct field visits to monitor and evaluate PJB activities;
-­‐ Work with coaches and the PJB staff to identify and facilitate training opportunities
-­‐ Communicate with donors (Report on projects to a diverse set of donors – government, NGOs
and foundations)
-­‐ Represent PJB to local league, Ministries, other government institutions, potential donors and
VIPs
-­‐ Support communication about PJB to different media / networks focused on education through
sport
-­‐ Ensure PJB registration at local and national level
LANGUAGES REQUIRED:
-­‐ Good written and spoken French and English; (Swahili is a plus but not required)

Grant/Proposal writing
Administrative Management
Using / creating monitoring and management tools
Defining measures of project progress and success
Project reporting for internal and external audiences
Donor relations (ranging from private to government) - ensuring donor financial and
programmatic requirements are met; status / goals / challenges of programs are communicated
Implementing donor requirements ‘on the ground’ to ensure compliance
*Working in sport/education organization / Science of Education, Sport teacher, Coaching or
Playing background would be a plus, but is not required.
