SSEP is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to providing education material and events that
improve the care and impact the quality of life of women with diabetes related to pregnancy.
WEBINAR DESCRIPTION
This program is designed to provide practical information about diagnosis, management, education and support of women with pregnancies
complicated by diabetes. It emphasizes interventions prior to, during and after pregnancy to prevent obesity and diabetes in mothers and
their children. It is intended for multi-disciplinary team members that provide direct care to women with pregnancies complicated by
diabetes. Participants will receive information about one topic each session with ample time for questions / answer session. Topics cover
current practice standards, management interventions, and an introduction to self-management and self-care strategies that are
implemented during pregnancy and impact the future health and well-being of mothers and their children. Management and strategy
concepts are based on the highly successful Sweet Success model of care and are consistent with the current American Diabetes
Association and the 2013 World Health Organization recommendations.
