The Master in International Relations (MIR) is an innovative postgraduate program developed for graduates willing to deepen their
knowledge in the field of International Relations. Distinguished faculty and top-level professionals make the Master a unique experience. The MIR provides a well-balanced combination of theory and
practice, enriching the learning process, by focusing on international
relations, economics, politics and law, as well as those emerging
issues that challenge today’s global system.
Learning objectives
The Master in International Relations program is tailored to train
professionals with the analytical skills to comprehend the different
elements that constitute our complex world; to develop students’
abilities to collect and interpret information and international events
and to manage technical and scientific aspects of international
projects; to help students to identify and interact with local and
global cultures through a multidisciplinary approach and specialized competences.
Career opportunities & professional recognition
Upon completion of the Master in International Relations, students
will be prepared to manage and evaluate specific international
events and problems from different perspectives, consistently with
their training and experience, within a variety of organizations:
international institutions, private companies, research centers, public
administration, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) etc.

Can I learn Italian while studying?
Students are invited to complement their studies with an Italian
Language Culture Course offered at a small additional cost and are
taught by a team of qualified and experienced native Italian speakers, should the course fit within their program schedule.
Can I work while studying?
Yes. Non-EU students entering Italy on a VISA are permitted to
work part-time (20 hours per week).
Course structure & Internship opportunity
The Master in International Relations’ program is spread over four
integrated levels aimed at fostering a multidimensional education,
which includes research skills, analytical tools and professional
development.
1st level - Scientific training & management skills
The course offers an important opportunity to meet international faculty and deepen the theoretical analysis of the economic, political,
historical, legal and institutional issues relevant to the global system.
Due to the multidisciplinary character of this area, students have the
opportunity to study and evaluate specific problems from different,
yet connected, perspectives.
2nd level - Advanced training on regional areas
The Master in International Relations includes an advanced training
program on the most relevant regional areas that governments,
international organizations, NGO’s, and multinational private companies are facing. Professionals
and experts from specific fields are involved in planning, organizing,
and holding introductory courses, seminars and case studies on
Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and Middle East.
3rd level - Project work
Students join in the elaboration of a project work where the multidimensional analysis of a problem leads to the identification of its
fundamental nodes.

Tuition fee: €10,000
Partial tuition fee scholarships are available. All scholarships are
assigned on a merit basis and most of them will be assigned to
students who apply by the priority deadlines. Some scholarships
may also target specific geographic regions. Updated details on the

Each program has three different deadlines:
●● Deadline 1: June 30, 2015
Priority consideration deadline is for all applicants. Students want

Entry requirements: am I eligible?
Admission requirements
●● Candidates best suited for the program have a background in
Political Science, Economics, Law, Humanities, Education, Foreign
Languages, Psychology, Social Science, Engineering, Agronomy,
Environmental Science. This Master is however also open to all
graduates from other faculties.
●● Completion of at least an undergraduate degree, obtained after a
minimum of 3 years of study (180 ECTS)
●● The undergraduate degree must be obtained before the start of
the program
ASERI will evaluate candidates’ academic and personal background
and decide if they meet the specific conditions for admission to the
program.
For applicants whose first language is not English:
●● TOEFL iBT overall score of at least 80, or
●● Academic IELTS overall score of at least 6.0, or
●● Completed a degree program taught entirely in the English
language
4th level - Internship
The research activity is completed with an internship that gives the
student the invaluable opportunity to strengthen competencies
acquired during the Master in International Relations. It is a key
compulsory component of the Master program and usually lasts
3 months. Students will be asked to sit an interview and will be
selected by the companies or organizations.
