Course details
Do you have a genuine interest in law and its applications? Are you interested in pursuing a career in law
enforcement? If yes then the Certificate IV in Justice Studies is the course for you. The program will prepare you
for a career in law enforcement or for further study. After completing the Certificate IV in Justice Studies you have
the option to continue for another semester and complete your Diploma of Justice Studies. Upon completing your
diploma a number of universities will recognise your diploma and offer credit towards the Bachelor of Justice and
other legal studies undergraduate programs.
To achieve this qualification you will need to complete:

Career prospects:
Queensland Police Service, other justice-related occupations, corrective services in custodial and support roles,
Department of Justice and Attorney General (including courts), legal offices, customs service, parks and wildlife,
the Department of Transport, youth justice roles, community legal centres, other State and Federal Government
Departments in compliance and workplace health and safety roles, and support or administration roles in the
security industry, private investigations or the Crime and Misconduct Commission. Justice related occupations,
Court support, Corrective services and Security industry.

Entry requirements
You must have successfully completed year 12 (or equivalent) or have relevant experience and/or qualifications
that indicates likely success in completing the course.
The course is predominately theory based and strong literacy skills are essential. Successful completion of senior
OP English is desirable.
