Let us ask the Lord for the grace not to
speak badly of others, not to criticize, not
to gossip, but rather to love everyone.

ST MARY’S PARISH
OCTOBER 12, 2014________
Everyone needs a break from the routine.
Vacations are opportunities to be refreshed and
renewed. This Sunday I will be leaving for The
Precious Blood Center in Liberty, Missouri. On
Monday morning, a staff member will take my
classmate, Fr. Dennis, and I to the airport, where we will leave for
San Francisico. Those who have been there say that it is a
beautiful city, with walking trails and many interesting sites,
including Fisherman’s Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge, and
Alcatraz. I will be returning on October 22. Pray that there are no
earthquakes! Fr. Tom Spiegel, a retired diocesan priest who lives
in Oskaloosa, will be celebrating weekend Masses for me. Just a
note of thanks to all those who helped with the liturgy at the 10:30
Mass last Sunday with the Bishop and thanks to those who had a
hand in preparing a wonderful meal that followed. You are
angels among us! If you haven’t yet returned your donation for
the Annual Diocesan Appeal, I would very much appreciate your
participation.
My prayers are with you each day. Fr. Mike.
