More information: stacharlotte.com/WF Tickets for Sale After All Masses This Weekend at a Discount! 3 St. Thomas Aquinas Charlotte, NC Come to the Feast “On this mountain, the Lord of hosts / will provide for all peoples / a feast of rich food and choice wines” (Isaiah 25:6). That’s what Isaiah tells us today. God is putting together a huge party for “all peoples,” to “wipe away / the tears from every face” (Isaiah 25:8). And what does Jesus tell us? The reign of God, he says, “may be likened to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son” (Matthew 22:2). When the guests didn’t come, the king had his servants go out “into the main roads and invite to the feast whomever you find” (Matthew 22:9). We are called to deliver that invitation. One of the themes woven into today’s liturgy is that of divine generosity. Asleep to reality, people often think they have “earned” what they have. In our better moments, though, we know that all our gifts—even the spiritual gifts—come through God’s generosity. Our vocation is to invite people, to remind them the tickets aren’t for sale. We can only show up and say thank you. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co. Saints and Special Observances Sunday: Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time Monday: Columbus Day; Canadian Thanksgiving Day Tuesday: St. Callistus I Wednesday: St. Teresa of Jesus Thursday: St. Hedwig; St. Margaret Mary Alacoque; National Boss Day Friday: St. Ignatius of Antioch Saturday: St. Luke Last Our Lady of Fatima Procession for the Year Join us on Monday, October 13th at 7:30pm for the final procession in our Annual Devotion to Our Lady of Fatima. Each month we have gathered on the 13th in prayer and devotion to Our Lady reflecting on her appearances to the Children in Fatima in 1917. Our Lady of Fatima appeared to the children on the 13th of each month from May to October in 1917. Each year pilgrims re-live this experience with a monthly candle-lit procession. Pope Francis dedicated his papacy to Our Lady of Fatima so let us pray with the Universal Church for Our Lady's help and protection. A procession is representative of our life journey as the Church, the Bride of Christ, going to meet her Divine Spouse. We offer these processions for an increased devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the conversion of sinners, and for the souls of the faithful departed. All are welcome to join us for this special evening of devotion, recitation of the Rosary, reflection on the message of Our Lady, and a candle lit procession around our campus. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. All Saints Orchestral Mass At STA On Saturday, November 1st at 2:00pm, we will have a Solemn High Latin Mass in the Extraordinary Form at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. The Carolina Catholic Chorale (carolinacatholicchorale@eebly.com) will sing a Mozart Mass with chamber orchestra as accompaniment to the Sacred Liturgy. Please join us for this most special celebration of the Saints in glory! Interested in Becoming An Usher?
