We have colour coded each Faculty to help you find them and navigate your way around the campus. If you are not sure which Faculty your course belongs to, please ask. Look out for balloons, signage and students wearing your Faculty colours. Campus Tours Make the most of being on campus by taking a campus tour with one of our friendly Student Ambassadors. Campus tours are available on demand, so when you are ready, pop along to the Lord Ashcroft Reception. Library Tours With 335,000 items, 1,200 print journal subscriptions, 52,000 e-books and 5,000 e-journals across our campuses, our University Library is well-equipped for all our students needs. Tours are available on demand from our Library entrance. Accommodation Tours Take a tour of our accommodation with our Residential Services team, available on demand from MAB 101. Students’ Union When you join Anglia Ruskin you automatically become a member of the Students’ Union. The Students’ Union is the voice of students here and our mission is to make your experience the best it can be. So, we’ve established our Parents’ Zone with useful and relevant information to reassure yourself with and to get informed about supporting your son or daughter at university and beyond. Societies, Recreational Clubs and Activities Societies and recreational clubs, such as aerobics and the Mindful Midwifery society are supported by the Students’ Union who are available today if you want to know more. They also organise the ‘Give it a Go’ sessions which are taster sessions of all sorts of activities and trips, such as visits to Harry Potter World and Alton Towers. They can also tell you all about the lively social events that take place throughout the year. Study skills coaching and workshop sessions can help you develop and refine your writing, planning and exam skills. Specialist advisers offer information and support if you have or are concerned about a disability, medical condition or specific learner difficulty such as dyslexia. The International Student Advice Service provide visa and immigration advice and organise a special Welcome programme for international students. Improving employment prospects is one of our key objectives and our Faculty Employability Advisers work proactively to provide opportunities for students to meet and interact with employers, develop valuable transferable skills and to ultimately realise their career potential. The service has an onsite recruitment agency, the Employment Bureau, who organise paid part-time temporary work enabling you to earn some extra money whilst you study and gain valuable work experience. They can also help you find a permanent job once you have finished your studies. If you require any specific arrangements because of a disability, medical condition or learning difficulty, you can talk to the Study Support Service who will arrange this for you. Help with Your Money Academic Advice and Support If you need help with your module choices or want a point of contact for friendly and professional help and guidance about your studies, you can talk to your Faculty Student Adviser. They will help you deal with any problems you have regarding your academic life. Chaplaincy/Mission Botswana and Ukraine Our Chaplaincy is available to all students irrespective of your faith or commitment, and exists to support your learning experience at Anglia Ruskin, including any spiritual and personal issues you may want to discuss in confidence. They run annual trips to Botswana and Ukraine where you can experience new places and help local communities. Help for International Students Our International Student Advice Service provides advice and information to current and prospective international students (from within and outside the EU). We organise an Orientation and Welcome programme on arrival to help you settle into your new life with us and our specialist advisers can help with immigration matters, tuition fee advice, health and working entitlements in the UK. General Information Fire Alarm If the fire alarm sounds please remain calm and head for the nearest exit. Assembly points are clearly signposted. First Aid First Aid is available from St John Ambulance. If you require assistance please ask one of our Student Ambassadors. Lost People/Property If you lose a member of your party or an item of property please go to the Ashcroft Reception area and request assistance from a Student Ambassador. We do not offer storage facilities for baggage. Toilets Each building on-campus has toilet facilities which are clearly signposted.
