We had the Coronado Speed Fest and the Japanese Car show were a few of our members attended and entered their cars in the show. You do not have to be there to be nominated, so come to the meeting . Then on the 18th, Saturday, we have the Dyno Day starting at 10:00 AM.at the Dyno Shop in Santee. We will have free hamburgers and hot dogs , brats and chocolate cake. There will be a trophy for the best run. Each car will get two pull on the Dyno for $60.00. Come on out and have some Dyno fun. The Z Car CLUB OF SAN DIEGO is a group of Datsun and Nissan Z enthusiasts and a Charter Member of the National Z Car Club Association. Purpose: The Club is organized as a California Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation formed to:1) Provide its members with access to knowledge about their Z Cars; 2) Provide a forum for members and other interested parties; 3) Exchange Z Car information; 4) Organize events and activities for members which enhance their enjoyment of Z car ownership. Persons interested in becoming a Member should fill out the Membership Form located on the last page of this Newsletter. Monthly Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month with dinner at 6 PM and meeting starting at 7 PM. See below for driving directions. Turn right on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. Then look for the Denny’s. on your left. We park in back of Denny’s CORONADO SPEED FEST Most club members missed a great experience!! The Coronado Speed Fest at North Island brought the best of the past in race cars and drivers to San Diego. Thanks go out to Dennis Darnall for once again organizing our club's Corral Pass participation. A bonus feature this year where the off road trucks from stadium events that were a big hit. Viewing of over 300 cars from other car clubs, roaming the pits and speaking to drivers, examining the under hood secrets of these legendary race cars and watching the bumper to bumper action on the 1.7 mile race course were highlights of this beautiful day in Coronado. Congratulations !!! to our Web Master, Rich Scharf for his award winning on the 10th Anniversary of The Japanese Classic Car Show in Long Beach, CA. Rich had his beautiful and newly restored 1600 Datsun Roadster. The car is absolutely beautiful and precisely restore by Rich . Congratulations to our friend and ZCCIV member ,John Williams for his JCCCS award with his super duper “ Hot Wheels” Datsun 510 Wagon. This car brought more smiles than a circus clown on crack . John thank you for the wonderful master piece you have created don’t know where you get the time to do all that you do ,but we all really enjoy it. I was on a trip and missed it, so I can’t report on the goings-on. However I have heard great things about club participation at the Coronado Speed Festival and at the 10th Annual All Japanese Car Show held at the Queen Mary in Long Beach. We will be e-mailing a flyer with details on the October event scheduled for the 18th – so save that date! Remember this club is only as good as its members and you should start thinking of how YOU can become more active in YOUR club – Nominations will be on October 7th at the General Meeting. September brought us the Coronado Speed Fest and the 10th Anniversary of the Japanese Classic Car Show. Hope you all had a chance to enjoy it. Congrats to Rich Scharf for his win at JCCS with his awesomely restored 1600 Datsun Roadster. October will offer the opportunity to participate in the Dyno Day and BBQ at the Santee Dyno Shop , this event is put together by Lenny Arnoth, thanks Lenny and Sheri for this awesome event. There is also a new Brewery walking distance from the Dyno Shop and it may be a nice addition to thee event. Also we had as a guest speaker in the September meeting our friend and Empire Z President , Mr. John Moran extending us a cordial invitation to their 8th Annual Car show , this is a very nice show with a nice drive to San Bernardino, The food is great and their T-shirts are always awesome. We also have from our friends and sister club ZCCIV their great Annual Car Show at the awesome SoCal Wax Shop in Murrieta. This is by far the most stress free and fun car show you could ever attend , you will feel like family here . Shalena and Bill Williamson are the best hostess ever in their SoCal Wax shop. Come and take care of the awesome discount on all the detailing products they have to offer, They always have great new products that make cleaning , detailing and maintaining your Z car looking good. Hope to see you all at the meeting. Wally will be giving a presentation of concentric rings that are use to centralize and align your car wheels to your cars wheel hubs . Ferguson after a successful and long military career with the NAVY, now is time to join his wife and kids in Sugarland ,Texas and join the civilian work force. We wish you and your family the best and please keep taking care of your awesome Skyline. Thank you for your friendship and kind heart brother and best of luck in your new endeavors. Joseph Cude is also leaving town. After a 5 years assignment in beautiful San Diego our club fiend is being reassigned to Washington DC. to continue with his Military career in the NAVY. Thank for all the fun memories and thank you for your service . The Old School Car meets won’t be the same without you . Stay in touch and take care of Doris (the Datsun 510).
