Nominations Process
Successful nominees must:
 Have given exceptional service to
Rugby Union Football for many
years
 Not in the past five years have served
as an Officer or Member of your CB’s
Management or Executive
Committee.
 Not in the past five years have
attended an International match at
Twickenham as a guest of their CB,
Council Member or as a Value the
Volunteer.
Worthy volunteers will be selected by the CB
on the basis that:

 CB sends name , home address and mobile
number of nominee, together with a brief report
detailing why the nominee is considered to be
worthy of the invitation to: Maureen Brewer,

2014. Volunteer groundsmen who register
will be entered into a draw to win the
chance to spend a match day with Keith
Kent on the pitch at Twickenham.

This award is not looking for the players
who score the tries or the coaches who guide
the First XV to glory, but those who beaver
away in the background, largely unheralded,
for rugby and the school. Winners receive a
framed and unframed certificate, group
picture and individual photo receiving
award, VIP invite to schools day and match
tickets to an England game at Twickenham.

5 will be sent directly to every voting club with a
covering letter.
50 given to each CBVC/sub CBVC.
1000 available for distribution from HQ.

All groundsmen who register for the RFU ‘Rugby
Groundsmen Connected’ will be entered into a draw at

To celebrate the unique nature of university
rugby, the Students’ Rugby Football Union
has seven categories of award for people
who support the students game which will
be decided annually.
1. Player of the Year
2. Team of the Year
3. Volunteer of the Year
4. University Staff Member of the Year
5. Referee of the Year
6. Student Coach of the Year
7. "Vaughan Parry Williams Award" for
overall contribution to the student game

Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served
basis. The cut-off date is normally around 2
weeks prior to kick-off.

Wristbands are given out on the day

An Honorary Life Member (not normally
still a full-time teacher) will have served
either on the Full, 18 group, 17-19 group, or
16 Group Committee, worked at National
level either in Administration, Coaching,
Selecting or Team Management.
Services to Schools Rugby may be offered to
someone who has worked at Divisional,
County or Local level either through
Committee work or through service as a
Manager, Selector or Coach.
We are offering one pair of tickets per
nominee.
 Tickets will be distributed, on a ‘first
come first served’ basis.
 Nominated volunteers should be
selected by the Constituent Body on
the basis that the volunteer has not
already received recognition over the
current season
We are looking to recognise and reward
exceptional volunteers, who have made a
real impact in their clubs and local
communities.
As only 18 places are available, entries will
be selected on merit.
