DOGS: Dogs are welcome except as stated in the Walks Programme. When brought, dogs must be under complete control at all
times. Please note that dogs should be on a short lead at all times during the nesting season, 1 March to 31 July. Also please note that
a Walk Leader may require dogs to be on leads and that the Walk Leader’s decision is final and not negotiable.
BAD WEATHER: Please telephone the appropriate Walk Leader if you wish to know more about the walks listed in the programme or if
the weather conditions on the day seem dubious. Walks are rarely cancelled but may be curtailed at the discretion of the Leader.
WALKS LEADERS: New leaders are always welcome but are required to be fully paid-up members of the Ramblers Association and
over eighteen years of age.
CAR SHARE: We would encourage the use of car sharing where practical between fellow walkers. We would suggest either a
voluntary donation of £4.00 or a private agreement between passengers and drivers, or alternate journeys.
GROUP SAFETY: In order to promote the collective comfort, safety & enjoyment of walkers with the Group, each participant should be
adequately clothed and equipped for bad weather and emergencies in remote, exposed situations. Advice can be obtained from the
Walks’ Secretary or the General Secretary.
BACKMARKERS: It is the recommendation of the Committee that a back marker be appointed. While the back marker may not be
familiar with the route, they should be capable of navigating back to the finish point of the walk. Please contact the Walks Secretary if
you have any questions about appointing a back marker.
INCIDENT & INJURIES: Any walker who required medical attention following an incident or injury sustained during an organised walk
is asked to give details to the General Secretary.
RAMBLERS MEMBERS: Members from other groups are welcome to walk with the Moorland Group at any time. Non members may
join a Moorland Group walk on a trial basis, but in furtherance of Ramblers policy, after three walks they should apply for membership.
The General Secretary receives details from various holiday companies and lists of late vacancies on holidays provided by Ramblers
Holidays. Please contact him/her if you require details.

or the Walks Secretary. A donation of £4.00 for 4 programmes is requested from non-Moorland Group members to cover the cost of
programme and postage, or give us your email address.
