Holy Father’s Prayer Intentions for October:
 Peace. That the Lord may grant peace to those
parts of the world most battered by war and violence.
 World Mission Day. That World Mission Day
may rekindle in every believer zeal for carrying
the Gospel into all the world.

bulletin is Bob Barron, Karen Buerkel,
Ivan Torres, John Owen, Bill Owen, Vivian Wrede
~ Pastor’s Message ~ October, Month of the Rosary
The month of October each year is dedicated to the Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical feast
of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7th. It was instituted to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in
gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful. The feast
was introduced by Pope St. Pius V (1504-1572) in the year 1571. The Holy Rosary is said after daily Mass here at St.
Henry and also daily on KVBM (88.3 FM) at 7:00pm and 11:30pm.
How To Pray The Rosary - The purpose of the Rosary is to help keep in memory certain principal events or mysteries in
the history of our salvation and to thank and praise God for them. There are twenty mysteries reflected upon in the Rosary, and these are divided into the five JOYFUL MYSTERIES, the five LUMINOUS MYSTERIES, the five SORROWFUL MYSTERIES, and the five GLORIOUS MYSTERIES. As suggested by Pope St. John Paul the Great, the
Joyful mysteries are said on Monday and Saturday, the Luminous on Thursday, the Sorrowful on Tuesday and Friday,
and the Glorious on Wednesday and Sunday (with this exception: Sundays of Christmas season - The Joyful; Sundays of
Lent - Sorrowful).
Joyful Mysteries
Annunciation
Visitation
Nativity of Christ
Presentation of the Christ Child in the Temple
Finding of the Christ Child in the Temple
Sorrowful Mysteries
Agony in the Garden
Scourging at the Pillar
Crowning with Thorns
Carrying of the Cross
Crucifixion
Glorious Mysteries
Resurrection
Ascension
Descent of the Holy Spirit
Assumption
Coronation of Mary
Luminous Mysteries
Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan
Manifestation of Jesus at the Wedding at Cana
Proclamation of the Kingdom of God
Transfiguration of Jesus
Institution of the Eucharist

“And my God will supply every need of yours…” - Philippians 4:19 God really does provide for those that are grateful and generous. This is very difficult for people that don’t
live a stewardship lifestyle to believe. People are skeptical
and say it’s just coincidence. If you are skeptical, try living
a stewardship lifestyle for just one month – be generous
with your gifts of time, talent and treasure and see how God
provides for your needs.

Many people falsely believe that if you want to be

not stifle us, it sets us free.

CDA Coat Drive
Since Catholic Daughters began their annual warm
clothing drive four years ago, through the fantastic
generosity of St. Henry Parish, we
have given away four hundred coats,
nine boxes of hats and gloves, and
six hundred miscellaneous pieces
including sweat shirts, jackets and
sweaters to our brothers and sisters
trying to stay warm. Unfortunately there is still a
need. We will again be
collecting warm clothing
now through October 17
in the vestibule of the church.
Bless you for your generous hearts.
St. Henry Ladies are Amazing!
