Please note that the Junior School have use of the basketball courts at lunchtime while the HSC exams are
on.

Years 9 – 12 - Tax File Number applications will be processed for the last time this year. Forms can be
obtained from the shelf outside the Careers Office. Application forms must be returned to student
reception by this Friday 17 October. After this date you will have to wait until next year for the School to
process forms or you may obtain a Tax File Number through the Centrelink Offices at Wollongong or
Corrimal.

University of Sydney G&T Discovery Program – 2015 for Years 8 and 9 - Each year, the University of Sydney
runs a Science program involving hands-on experiments and demonstrations for enthusiastic science
students. To qualify for the program you need to sit the Gifted and Talented Discovery Program Qualifying
examination. This is a 40- minute multiple-choice paper that is designed to test your ability to solve scientific
problems in the areas of biology, chemistry and physics.
The test will be held at school in early November. If you are interested in nominating to sit the test, please
let your Science teacher know, or see Mr Sormus.



University of New South Wales: Minerals Summer School
Monday 19 January – Thursday 22 January
Applications close Friday 17 October
Students in Year 10 or 11 who are interested in science or engineering can take part in this 4 day residential
summer school. Students will learn about study, careers, lifestyles and opportunities in the Australian
minerals industry.

SPORT

Term 4 Summer Sport Program - Before and after school sport will recommence next week (Week 2). The
activities have switched back to those from Term 1 (Summer Program). Please check your timetable to see
which Sport you are enrolled in. If you are exempt from Sport this does not apply to you. If there are any
problems please come see Mr Toussis or Mrs Hinch at Student Reception as soon as possible.

Students aged 15 years or under that would like to nominate to play at the AICES 15yrs Tennis
Championship please come and see Mr Toussis or Mrs Hinch today during recess or lunch. If you have an
Australian ranking please bring this information with you.

Students who are 16 years old or are turning 16 this year that are interested in nominating to trial for AICES
Water Polo please see Mr Toussis or Mrs Hinch today at Student Reception.
