Your route to a degree
at Twente University
The International Foundation Year at the
Holland International Study Centre provides
a route to the following degrees, taught in
English, at the University of Twente.
Business degrees
BSc International Business Administration
(3 years) This programme gives you the
practical and theoretical knowledge of
business strategies you’ll need for a
successful career in our complex and
demanding globalised world. There are
opportunities to broaden your knowledge
through various study-related activities
including the International Business
Administration excellence programme
for highly motivated and very talented
students, guest lectures within the
modules and company visits, study tour,
and job fairs, as well as the University
of Twente honours programme.
Engineering degrees
BSc Advanced Technology (3 years) This is a
broad technical programme with an eye for
societal needs. It is unique as it gives
students the opportunity to follow several
fields of study at the same time. Study
options include electrical engineering,
mechanical engineering, applied physics,
chemical engineering, mathematics, and
business administration.
BSc Creative Technology (3 years) How can
you use cutting-edge technology or new
media to create user interaction? This
programme challenges you to develop
innovative applications using the latest
technology. You will learn to adapt
state-of-the-art technology or new media
in an original and appealing way to create
interaction with or between users. You will
work on applications that make life healthier,
easier and more fun. Think of a staircase
that is so inviting that people would prefer
taking it rather than using the escalator!
Engineering in the Netherlands
The Netherlands is extremely attractive to
global industries and investors. The Dutch
are experts in hydraulic engineering, have
an innovative chemical industry – with
chemical companies such as AkzoNobel,
Shell, DSM and Purac based here – and are
at the forefront of renewable energy. If you
have ambitions in the field of engineering,
then the Netherlands is the ideal place for
you to study and then have the opportunity
to stay on after your studies when you
secure a job.
BSc Electrical Engineering (3 years) This
programme focuses on developing and
improving electronics-based systems.
Electrical Engineering teaches you how
modern technology works and how to use it
to improve, accelerate or scale down
electronics-based systems. Your work and
commitment will result in high-tech
applications that are based on
nanotechnology, device physics, robotics,
electronics and communication technology.
The specific developments we work on
include lab-on-a-chip technology, methods
for producing faster and better computers,
more energy-efficient cars and batteries, a
chip-based pregnancy test and state-of-theart communication sensors.
In today’s global market, it is essential that your education equips you with a

Type The Student Hotel is a brand new
residence offering a range of en-suite
private rooms for individual use. Facilities
include furniture and bedding, as well as
use of a private gym, study rooms, a library,
lounges, and entertainment and games
rooms. 24-hr security, WiFi and high speed
internet and bicycles are also available
for residents.

Holland ISC
Contact our Admissions Coordinator who will help you with your
application every step of the way. Please follow the two steps below
to secure your place at the Holland ISC:
Step 1: Complete the Holland ISC application form and attach
the following copies of your documents.
• the relevant pages of your passport
• your IELTS or TOEFL score
• your academic transcripts (originals and English translations)
• your diploma (if available)
• if you have already received a conditional offer of a place on your intended
degree programme at the University of Twente, please include this too.

Step 2: If you meet the entry requirements for the International Foundation Year
programme, our Admissions Coordinator will arrange:
• a conditional offer of a place on your intended degree programme at
University of Twente (if you do not already hold an offer)
• the offer of a place at the Holland ISC.
The conditional offer from the university is a visa requirement for any student
following a degree preparation programme in Holland.
