IAM - COMMUTAIR FLIGHT ATTENDANTS
TENTATIVE AGREEMENT REACHED
As was communicated at the end of September, significant progress was made by your
negotiating committee in the areas identified as reasons for the prior Tentative Agreement being
rejected.
After breaking from the September meetings, the work has continued through this past week and
I am pleased to announce that we have reached a Tentative Agreement with the Company for
your Collective Bargaining Agreement. The highlights are as follows:






A new Commuter Policy in Section 5, paragraph Q.
An almost 3% increase over the failed TA rates for a total increase of 6.4% becoming
effective on the Date of Signing with additional raises throughout the term in Section 4.
The Agreement is still a 48 month term in Section 23.
Flight Attendant “Out of base” parking in Section 3, paragraph P.
Per-diem effective on Date of Signing at $1.45 with an increase to $1.50 at DOS+24
months in Section 7.
Flight Attendant Instructor Ground and IOE premiums of $6.50 and $8.50 an hour.
As you can see, these additions are representative of the issues you raised concerning
compensation and quality of life. This was a very long and hard fought process, on both sides,
resulting in the Company ultimately acquiescing to improvements in key areas identified from
your feedback with respect to the previous TA which failed ratification. As far as first
agreements go, this goes well beyond what is contained in most of them and this Negotiating
Committee fully endorses and supports its contents and ask that you do the same during
ratification by voting “yes”.
Additional information will be coming shortly concerning the ratification process; opportunities
for QnA and information plus additional opportunities Flight Attendants will have to be more
involved. If you have any questions, I can be reached by email at jsamuel@iamdl42.org or my
cell phone at (859) 653-4037, or please feel free to reach out to Mark who will be present in the
bases over the coming weeks.
With best wishes, we remain
Sincerely and fraternally,
