Dear Coaches and Area Coordinators,
We cordially invite you to enter the 2014 Kings Basketball Pre-Season Invitational. This tournament is
targeted to 4th-6th Boys Community Select basketball teams. AAU teams are not permitted.







Cost is $225 per team (includes Ref fees)
Teams guaranteed a 3-game minimum
Pool play format with Championship Brackets and
Consolation games
Team and Individual awards for 1st and 2nd place
Concessions and t-shirts available for purchase
Gate fees: $3 Adults, $1 Kids

played. If this roster and parental release form is not completed and returned, no participation will be allowed
and no return of entry fee will be given.

OFFICERS, COACHES, DIRECTORS OR DESIGNATES FROM LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURY OR LOSS WHICH MY CHILD

Rules
1. All referees are certified Class 1 or 2 officials.
2. 6-minute quarters with 4-minute half time. 3-minute overtimes.
3. Man-to-Man defense. Help defense/double-teaming permitted with no restrictions.
4. No zone defense in the front court. There will be one warning, then a technical foul assessed.
5. Full court press for the entire game for 5th and 6th grade levels; the 4th quarter only for 4th grade level. No
press with a lead of 15 points or more.
6. Two (2) time-outs per half (no carry-over from 1st to 2nd half); one time-out in overtime (no carry-over from
regulation or prior overtime periods).
7. Three (3) point shots will be allowed for all grade levels.
8. 3 games guaranteed. Pool-play format with advancement to Championship Bracket and Consolation
games. Team and Individual 1st and 2nd place awards in the Championship bracket.
9. Free throw distance:
 4th Grade: 9 feet (bottom of the circle)
 5th & 6th Grade: 15 feet
10. Tiebreaker to determine pool winners:





Head to Head Competition.
Total margin of victory (15 points maximum per game).
Least points allowed.
Total points scored.
Coin flip.
Note: depending upon number of teams in the pool and the pool set-up, Tournament Directors retain the
discretion to fill and seed Championship brackets to ensure the most competitive outcome.
11. Second technical on a coach and the coach must leave the building.
12. All other rules covered in the OHSAA.
It is the responsibility of each coach to know and understand the above rules. Questions prior to the
Tournament can be forwarded to the Directors.
